I swear, I didn't mean to make the title a sexual innuendo!
What it refers to is the way I'm going to be writing. See, I couldn't decide if Jack would go with Kurt or Joe (yes, yaoi!) so, at the beginning of each chapter, I'm going to flip a coin: heads for Kurt, tails for Joe.
As each brother gets more chapters, the closer he'll become to Jack.
DISCLAIMER: Yes, there is boy-boy love. Although I don't intend to put lemons in right now, they will happen if one of the brothers gets 7 of 10 flips. There is no flip on this chapter.
Also, I don't own Harvest Moon or any of it's characters.

Jack stood on the hill with his hand against his forehead, keeping the evening setting sun out of his eyes. In the distance, he could see Sugar Village – and, on the outskirts of that village, his Grandpa Tony's farm.
His farm.
He probably would have stood there until the sun went down if it hadn't been for the innkeeper. "Sir?" the elderly woman cooed, "It'll be dark soon – there are wild dogs around here, and I'd feel mighty sorry if something happened to you."
Jack turned his head and nodded. Folding the letter in his other hand, he went inside.

"Did you hear?"
Kurt turned and faced his younger brother Joe. He was smiling, as usual, and Kurt remained silent.
"Tony's grandson is coming to get his stuff tomorrow."
"Yeah," Kurt grunted, returning to his work. "Gwen told me." The sound of the axe splitting the wood sliced through the nighttime air. It was the first of the year, yet there were no celebrations tonight. That's what you get for living in a village with no mayor.
"You work too hard," Joe stated as he sat on a nearby stump. Kurt grunted in response. "I wonder what he's like? Tony's grandson, I mean – do you think he'll help us save the village?"
Kurt's heart dropped. "Don't count on it," he murmured, pausing from his work to wipe off his sweaty face with his shirt.
Joe sighed and stared into the sky. "Why are they doing this?" he whispered. "Why are they taking our homes from us …?"
Kurt forcefully shoved the remains of the wood he was chopping off the stump, and sat down. Stooping down and resting his elbows on his knees, he glared at the ground. "People are heartless, Joe – especially city people."
"Don't say that, Bro," Joe said quietly, his eyebrows knitting together. "You never know, this guy could be diff--"
"This guy isn't different, Joe!" Kurt snapped. "He's from the city – there's no way he could be different. He'll screw us over and abandon us."
The brothers stared eye-to-eye for a long time before the younger of the two smiled and looked back up to the stars. "Okay," he started, shrugging slightly. "You can think that – and there's nothing wrong with that. I choose to keep my hopes up."
Kurt clicked his tongue in annoyance and stood abruptly. He was aggravated by how much his brother could trust people, even though they're going to destroy their home. "I'm going to bed. Don't stay out too long," he muttered as he walked up the hill.
Joe stargazed for a good fifteen minutes, before following his brother.
I still think he'll be different.
