Horn-Rimmed Glasses
By SMYGO4EVA

The false doctor knew nothing of what humans were capable of, or what they were incapable of, such as seeing what was to come for them in the future. Indeed humans were of interest to the being of the Master when they could be so easily manipulated, twisted to his needs, as in many cases, they absolutely could.

He found it quite amusing how so little humans really cared for each other, as they were deemed to be the most arrogant, most selfish beings in all existence, but it was no surprise to him. When he saw someone who truly cared for another without any strings attached, he was rather enthused with the idea of taking what they loved dearly and breaking them into many shards. The shards would only be reflecting what they once were and what they lost for all time. Then he would have no use for them any longer, they would be disposed of properly, into the darkness of their souls.

The only humans he would need would be from the shadows from whence he himself had came…

He supposed that fate and inevitability were interchangeable, for destiny was not one to decide the path for a human, it would only be the person themselves. The mirrors of the eyes of a human reflected their soul – just how pitiful and naïve they actually were. He would see what flaws his potential victims would have and charm them with his kind words and sincere tone of voice, giving the person a sense of security before it would be too late. The only flaw in this was that if they saw through his illusion, they would be too ambitious for their own good, but it wouldn't be long before they were manipulated to his advantage when it suited him.

He saw what normal humans couldn't see upon the glass holding doors for him to see who humans truly are: one could be happy and carefree but could be dark with the sadistic smile, a calm and stoic individual could deceive all, and the strongest could also be the weakest. His eyes saw who people really were, and the distortions were only fronts before one breaks it and shatters the reality that they had cherished.

Glass reflects all and sees all, more than you would know, and he was living proof that horn-rimmed glasses reflected more than he could ever imagine.
