Hey guys!

Long time no see ;)

Apologies for those who waited for me to update my other story but I totally sunk in real world and had no time, neither inspiration for writing.

Let's call this one a warm up ;)

Few words of introduction:

I both hated and loved the ending of last episode...

Loved it because I feel like good old Nikita is back! Packed with action, there is this intensivity between characters, everyone living on the edge( me sitting on the edge ;) )

And yet it was horrible to see how dramatic choices they had to make and how they both failed on their attempts to keep their word.

So I just had to write something down.

Enjoy!

Of course I don't own anything.

Small things. Tenuous signs.

Step by step they are making your world evolve into something completely foreign.

Step by step.

Slowly. If not careful enough you may miss those signs.

Their friendship was always strong, their bond seemed to be unbreakable. Thoughts always alike.

Soul mates. Friends. Sisters.

They knew each other like no one else.

They went through hell together. Shared every defeat and every victory. Each made their bond stronger.

And yet they became so foreign.

Nikita had a feeling she can't see Alex anymore. Not the real one. Only the things Alex wanted her to see. Knowing someone so well means also knowing how to deceive him.

Did she make a bad call in Ossetia?

Definitely not. She gave a word to Ari, just like Alex gave her word to Larissa.

Neither of them wanted to fail and yet they both did.

Not only two dead people were the result of this equation.

A Fracture.

Crack in the foundations of trust.

And it was not a tiny split. More like a gaping hole which couldn't be covered up with any explanation or justification.

Step by step they were getting distant. Apart. Foreign.

In a glimpse of an eye, Nikita found herself on the edge of precipice.

Not the first time life has put her in front of a crisis. But this time was different.

Today, she and Alex were standing on the opposite sides of a river. Endless darkness between them.

Nikita felt chills on her back.

Something was coming.
