A/N Okay I'm sure there are many fan out there that hated the whole Ethan story as much as me. I mean, sure it was great in terms of relationship development between Brian and Justin, but I generally hated Ethan for breaking them up. Anyways, here is what should have happened ;)

"I forgot Brian Kinney doesn't do romance," said Justin, depressingly stirring his now luke-warm cup of coffee.

"And no one, not even you, can ever change that!" smiled Michael sympathetically.

"Then clearly he doesn't love me," moaned Justin unhappily.

"Who doesn't love you, Sunshine?" asked Debbie, flopping onto the seat next to Justin a little too happily. She glanced at Michael before looking back at Justin.

"Ah... Brian huh?" she guessed in a very knowing and almost sarcastic tone.

"Love is meant to be taking someone to a posh restaurant for their birthday, not getting them a hustler! At least, that's what Ethan would do," murmured Justin, still looking down and angrily turning the spoon. Michael and Debbie leaned in closer.

"Back up a sec, who's Ethan?" asked Debbie as her eyes narrowed and her tone turned snappy.

"Just a guy," replied Justin, looking up into their intense stares with wide eyes, "Look I haven't fucked him!" he exclaimed.

"Do you want to fuck him?" asked Debbie, honestly curious.

"Yes! And I want him to always be there for me, and take me to restaurants, and come snowboarding with me!" burst out Justin, throwing the spoon across the table, "I want him to love me!"

"Brian loves you!" insisted Michael instantly, trying to pick up Justin's trembling hand.

"No he doesn't," mumbled Justin, retrieving his hand from Michael's grasp and thrusting it into his lap.

"Yes he does. Brian loves you more than Ethan ever could, because would Ethan sacrifice his every value he has ever stuck to for you? Would Ethan do anything to see you, including ignoring your parents wishes? Would Ethan crouch over your dying body, full of regrets? Would Ethan visit you at the hospital every night for two whole fucking months?" asked Debbie, grabbing at Justin's shoulders so that he had no choice but look her in the eyes, "No, he wouldn't, because Brian did those things. He might not be romantic and sophisticated, but he loves you," she said, her voice agitated and insistent. She stood up, climbed behind the counter and took a young twink's order, not looking back. Justin looked across at Michael, the emotions on his face too many to count.

"He... Came... To see me?" asked Justin in something like shock.

"Yes." replied Michael bluntly as he got up and left the diner, leaving Justin alone. Justin leapt up suddenly and left the diner too, grabbing his house keys on the way.

Justin unlocked the door to Brian's loft and stepped inside, finding his boyfriend standing by the window in nothing but jeans and a blanket-come-toga and a cigarette between his fingers. Justin creeped in and enveloped Brian in a warm, soft hug from behind. Brian grinned and leaned into Justin, letting the younger man kiss his neck softly.

"What was that for?" asked Brian quietly.

"I dunno... To say thanks," chuckled Justin, whispering into his ear.

"Thanks for the thanks," said Brian with a gentle smile before detaching himself from Justin's arms and walking away.

"Made me any dinner?" asked Justin, a hand on his hip.

"No!" replied Brian incredulously as he slipped up the stairs to his bed and lost the blanket.

"I forgot Brian Kinney doesn't do romance," whispered Justin under his breath with a large grin before following Brian and stripping off his shirt.
