A/N: Okay so here is my attempt for the USS Caryl Operation Happy/Sanity Challenge. We've all hit our funny bone at some point. Yes it hurts... but you can't deny it is funny. I can't be the only one that's ever laughed at it.

"Owwwww!"

The helpless yowl of pain rang out and broke Daryl's train of thought. He looked down from the watch tower to find the yard empty except for Carol hobbling towards the food prep area.

"Carol? Y'alright?" He yelled but got no response.

Daryl ripped open the door of the tower and dropped through. He flew down the stairs like a bat out of hell and burst out of the bottom door and across the yard. His heart was pounding now; she was buckled against the stove, face contorted in agony.

"Carol!" He crouched down to her level, his eyes scanning her frantically for bites. "What happened? Carol!"

Her body started to shake and he realised with bewilderment that she was laughing. The crazy bitch was laughing. Her head rolled back against the stove and he saw she was holding her elbow. Her face was screwed up in pain but the laughter continued to peal loudly. She was halfway between crying and hysterics.

"What the hell?" He stared at her as if she'd lost it, and by the looks of it she finally had. A sympathetic chuckle escaped him. "Are you okay?"

"I… I banged… oww!"

"Aw man, funny bone? Here lemme see." Daryl took her hand and extended her battered limb gently. "Ain't supposed to be funny, crazy woman."

As he straightened her arm out she winced and he glanced at her apologetically. He rubbed circles into the offending area with his thumb, trying to dissipate the pain. Slowly the feeling returned to her arm and she began to calm down. Her face softened from a scowl into a smile as she watched him working out the trauma with his fingers, totally oblivious to the fact she had stopped laughing. He was in a world of his own. He must have felt her eyes on him because he chanced a quick look up and reeled like a fox caught in with the chickens.

"Uhh, I gotta- I should get back," he stuttered, scrabbling to his feet.

Carol giggled as she watched him take off back to his post looking rather flustered. Not funny my ass.
