Note: This is my first fic so please be nice when you review! And, no this is not shonen ai! oh, this is from Hotohori-sama's point of veiw of when sweet Nuriko died. Spoilers ahead!

Nuriko. he was my friend. One of my closest in fact... Did he truly have to die? By the hand of a Seiryuu Seishi nonetheless. I'd felt it, as did the others, no doubt. I felt one of Suzaku's stars die. No. He wasn't just that. He was my comrade and my friend.
As emperor, you hardly have time to spend with friends, or time to even find some. Of course, I do have friends, quite a few though. Nuriko was one of them. But then, as I felt his life slip away, I felt something. Something told me to go to the gardens. For some strange reason, I couldn't shake the feeling. So I went. Almost as soon as I'd arrived, though, I froze.
Nuriko! He was alive! But then... why was he suddenly wearing woman's clothes again? Upon closer inspection, from a far, of course, I saw it was a girl. Her eyes gave it away. They were so different from th purple-haired seishi. They had a gentleness and an inner calm. Our eyes met. It was as if someone pushed, no, shoved me. I went to her. She bowed gracefully.
"Your Highness. To what do I owe the honor?" she asked softly.
"I was simply out for a walk. Pardon, but what is your name?" I returned, equally polite.
"Houki, heika. I am one of the concubines from the inner palace," Houki answered.
"Well, Houki would you mind walking with me then? That is, if you don't have anything of importance to do...?" I held out my arm to her. She accepted, flushed, eyes bright. I didn't know wht possessed me to ask her that! But still, it felt... right. It was as if Nuriko himself was there.
Yes, It was Nuriko. He was the one who planned this all, I'm sure. I lost a friend, but I gained something more. I close my eyes briefly, thinking, Thank you, my friend. I smile, knowing he would hear me.
Good bye, Nuriko. Arigatou.
