Trying to modify the mechanics of a prosthetic using only his left hand was not as simple as Luke had hoped. The spanner slipped from his fingers and landed on his foot for the sixth time. He kicked it across the room in retaliation.

The medics had assured him there was nothing wrong with his hand. Grip, sensitivity, range of motion…everything checked out. But Luke kept tinkering with it, because something was off. He just knew it. Something had to be.

Deep down, he knew it didn't matter how many modifications he made. He couldn't fix what was actually broken.
