"It tastes like Kiwi."
"What the heck is Kiwi?"
"A bird."
Sasuke blinked. "And you've tasted one before?"
Naruto shrugged and took another bite of his food. "When your starving, you'd be surprised just what you'll eat."
That left an awkward silence.
Stranded on some random island, left with no food or water and nothing of use, they were to fend for themselves for two months.
The image of Kakashi waving goodbye from the boat four days ago was still etched in their minds. He'd been holding a glass of iced tea and though they couldn't see his mouth, they could tell he was smiling.
It had been a terribly hot day and they had skipped breakfast. Also, since the boat had air conditioning, they'd relaxed and denied any drinks offered to them.
So as the boat became nothing more than a dot on the horrizon, they had come to realize just how much trouble they were in.
It didn't help that Sakura hadn't been left with them. If she had, maybe they would be better off. She knew alot of helpful things.
But that was exactly why Kakashi hadn't stranded her. He was testing their survival skills. And he already knew Sakura could survive quite easilly.
The island was horrible. The days were unbearbly hot, the nights freezing cold. The creatures on the island were like nothing either had seen before. And Naruto swore he'd seen a bug as big as his head.
Now they were crouched close to a campfire, roasting some strange animal that had leapt on Sasuke's head when he was looking for firewood.
It was the first thing they'd caught to eat on the island so far. And with that in mind, Sasuke wondered how they were going to survive two months.
"So...what do we do if we don't catch anything else?" Naruto asked.
Sasuke pretended to mull it over, but he already knew his answer. He'd been thinking about it for a while.
"I don't know about you, but I just might have to go canibal."
