Chapter 1: Unexpected Visitor
"Sakuno! Have you gotten dinner started, yet?" Sumire yelled as she entered the house. "If not, I'll start it."
She looked around the kitchen to find Sakuno standing in front of the stove. "Obaa-chan, I'm almost done! Gomen, I forgot to set the table."
Sumire grabbed the china from the cabinet and started setting it. She looked back to Sakuno who turned her back to her. She was cooking something really good. Sumire looked back at the table and saw the mail. "You know, you're sister wants to come and visit you."
Sakuno stopped what she was doing and looked back at her grandma. "Really?"
"She hasn't told you?" Sumire thought for a second. "Wait, was it supposed to be a surprise?"
"Well, I haven't heard of it!" Sakuno smiled. Her sister was coming even though she was busy. "That's why she acted strange when I talked to her a few days ago."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Sakuno turned off the stove and opened the door to find a girl standing there with luggage. "Sakuno!"
"Sakura!"
"Grandma! I knew she'd be surprised even after you told her."
"How'd you…?"
Sakura held up a phone and so did Sumire. She giggled and hugged the shocked Sakuno. "I'm so glad to see you. Now, let's eat. I'm hungry and trust me airplane food isn't that good."
She went to the kitchen and sat at the table. "Itadakimasu!"
"Onee-chan! Your luggage!"
Sakura went on eating and grabbing food. Sakuno smiled to herself, same old Sakura. As she was sat and ate, Sakuno grabbed her stuff and looked at it. "That's odd."
"What's odd?" Sumire asked. She helped Sakuno and put the rest of the luggage in the living room.
"She has a lot of luggage. How long is she staying?"
"That's the thing Saku-chan!" Sakura yelled from the kitchen. "I'll be living with you!"
"What?" Sakuno almost yelled. She ran into the kitchen and yelled, "What happened to your job in America?"
"I lost it."
"What? Why?"
Sakura looked back at her and yawned, "Ooh, jetlag!"
"Wait, why…"
Sumire stopped Sakuno from saying anymore and shook her head. Sakura went upstairs to the guestroom and shut the door. It was silent for a while. Before Sakuno could say anything, Sumire told her something that made her scream. "What?"
