So, i just finished watching the entire series and was looking forward to reading some great fanfiction afterwards. Unfortunately, i found there to be a complete absence of any worthwhile Chunibyo fanfiction on this website. I guess I'll just have to make the worthwhile fanfiction, myself. Without further ado, the first chapter of my Chunibyo fanfiction. Please enjoy!
I woke to darkness. My room was still dark. It must have been early, still. I felt exhausted. There was no way that I had woken up on my own. I still didn't feel like even opening my eyes, so I turned over onto my side.
"Yuta! The Wicked Lord Shingan's HP and MP are running critically low. I require you to bring enchantment to a meal. Get up!" Sure enough, it was Rikka's voice. I pretended to not hear her. It was way too early to be up, right now.
Unfortunately for me, she didn't appear to be taking no as an answer from me. She climbed up on my bed and started shaking me.
"Yuta, wake up, please! My stomach is making weird noises. I'm so hungry, I can't even stand properly. Make me something to eat." She wasn't backing down. And it appeared I had no choice. I rolled over, and pushed off the covers. Sitting up, Rikka got off my bed. I got off my bed and started to head to the kitchen with her.
We said that we were still looking for a place for Rikka to live, but in truth, we had pretty much given up on it. For right now, my parents were still paying for the apartment I live in. They will continue to until I graduate from high school. After summer vacation, I have two more semesters of high school. At that point, I should have a job or be going to college. Either way, as long as Rikka holds true to the promise we made, I will make sure that she has a place to go home to at night.
"I'm making tamago," I told her. "I'm too sleepy to make much of anything else."
I pulled out the tamagoyaki pan, eggs, and some various spices. As I started making the mixture, she left towards my room. Since it was summer vacation, there was even less reason for us to be up this early, but Rikka's appetite seemed to have been growing, here lately. Her thing lately has been to get dressed in my room. There's no telling which of my clothes she would choose to commandeer for the day. I had gotten past complaining about it, although my clothes were easily four sizes too large for her.
I poured some of the mixture into the now hot tamogoyaki pan. I let it bubble up just a little before rolling and pouring more mixture. I continued like this until our dishes were both done. I grabbed both of our plates and two sets of chopsticks. I called out to Rikka letting her know that breakfast was ready. Seconds later, she was at the table.
As we ate, I noticed that she had picked my favorite outfit to wear for the day. I would have to choose a different outfit. Not that it really mattered.
"Do you have any plans for today?" I asked her.
"I must continue in my battle against the bureau-"I cut her off with the side of my hand to the top of her head. "No…not particularly. I really want to stay home, today."
"Don't we have summer homework to work on?" I asked.
"We already finished everything," She replied with a smile on her face.
"Not the math." Her face instantly went blank. She hated math. If she had her way, she would never work on any of the math work. For a while she had marks as low as a two in her math classes. If it wasn't for me pushing her, she wouldn't even be passing math. We had already finished everything for the summer assignments except for the math.
After finishing up our breakfast and cleaning up the mess afterwards, I went with Rikka to work on some of the math homework. It was a substantial amount. After much complaining and an equal amount of explaining and re-explaining, we finally finished the math homework. It was around noon, and another day with the one who I have promised my life and love to has just begun.
Well, the first chapter of this one was really short, but i have a nasty habit of progressively allowing my chapters to become longer as the story goes on. So by the twentieth chapter, don't be surprised if it's 20,000 words. Anyway, this was pretty much just to show the things that i have held true to for this fanfiction, as well as set some precedent for the rest of the fanfiction. I'm not entirely sure where i want to take this, but i will figure it out, eventually. I'll probably make it up as i go along. Feel free to comment. I honestly don't care if it's flames or CC. Just something to flood my e-mail inbox and let me know that people are reading this. Thank you in advance!
