This comes from a few theories I have about a few of the characters.
As I stood there I couldn't help but sigh, "Tommy what will this do?" I asked as I crossed my arms staring at the face that had scared so many adults in the past, "This won't solve anything so let's all go home."
"No, I can't go home so never than they. They are angry, vengeful and hungry for this." He answered not once letting me see below the mask. "They killed you didn't they?"
I wasn't swayed; I had been with this company for decades. I know everything that's happened and I'm sure I'm the only one that still knew. "Tommy-"
"My name's not Tommy!" He hissed back, "I haven't been Tommy since that day…" He stopped for a moment his anger subsided and I knew exactly what he was thinking off.
I walked a little close not seeing the Puppet but a scared little boy that desperately wanted to also go home. "We can go home…together and you can see your Mommy again." I touched his shoulder only to have him push me back with more force than a child of his age should have. "We can still save them."
"No you can't. You could never save them and now they will stay."
"Until when? They aren't your play things." I could tell my arguing was pointless but they were still good kids. They didn't mean anyone harm they just wanted to go home. "Can I see them?"
"They won't see you. They killed you remember? Or did being dead make you forget that?" He growled at me as a few silently watched from the shadows. They were sorry for what they did especially little Danny. He was a good little boy that always wanted to be a pirate but he never deserved this. Sara cried softly as she hid behind Michael and David. I knew their names, their real names and never once since I learned the truth did I call them anything else. "Sara it's okay don't cry sweetie…" I said with a warm smile, "I know you didn't want to do it." I never once looked at Tommy when I said it. I didn't want their anger to grow. He had promised to help them but how was this doing that?
Their killers were gone, one in prison the other…boarded up never to see the light of day again. That I made sure of myself. But then maybe that's why I've always felt like their blood was on my hands. "You'll come back won't you Mr. Scott?" Danny asks softly as he holds tight to the curtain that is his safety blanket.
"No."
"Yes." I corrected as Tommy shot wicked daggers at me. "One day when you guys are ready I'll come back and take you all home."
If he could kill me again I swear he would have, "You shouldn't make promises you can't keep. Didn't you learn your lesson the first time?"
"No I didn't." I said simply seeing another pair of eyes watching, "But can I at least take her home?" They all looked over at the young woman with bright pink lipstick smeared on her face. "Her body has long been destroyed and the others have already gone."
They stared at her before Tommy spoke, "What do you say Mangle? You ready to go home?" The way he said it almost made a chill run down my spine.
She looks down at the children before slowly walking towards me. She had always been different, she wasn't a child when she died no she was far from it but I'm not sure if she even remembered that anymore. "Hello Scott…" She said quietly as she took my hand.
I squeezed it tightly. I might not have been able to take all of them but this was a start. As soon as I could I'd be back for the others even if that would mean decades longer. "Hello Miss Rebecca." I answered as I walked her away and towards the light.
"Rebecca?"
"Yeah." I answered, "Do you remember?"
After a moment as we ascended into the light she replied, "Someone broke my radio…"
"Your radio?"
She nodded, "I was trying to call…for backup…" Her voice grew faint, "I guess no one heard me…"
Then and there I hugged her as I sent her home, "I heard you. Loud and clear."
