Queen Elsa was walking around Arendelle when she happened to look up and notice a strange ship in the sky, coming towards the palace. She was worried that the ship might be attacking them and alerted the guards to be ready, just in case. The ship came lower and lower until it landed next to her. The lone person who was piloting the ship did not look like anyone she had ever met. He had longer hair than most men and pointy ears. He had a jewel on his forehead, but this was no ordinary jewel. The jewel seemed to glow with its own light. It blazed brightly on the man's brow.

"Who are you?" the queen asked.

"I am Eärendil," he replied. "Um, where precisely am I?"

"You have the same name as my kingdom?" Elsa asked in astonishment. "You are in the kingdom of Arendelle. I am Queen Elsa."

"Ah, then I am in the right place. No, my name is not the same. It is spelled differently, but that is not important. Varda said that I was supposed to watch your borders, since a Prince Hans of the Southern Isles might try to attack with some help from Sauron, who wants to gain control of your entire world," Eärendil explained.

Elsa sucked in a deep breath of air. Hans wanted to try to attack Arendelle? "Who is Varda and who is Sauron? And why does this Sauron want to gain control of my world?" she asked.

"Oh, Varda is the wife of Manwë, who is the king of Arda. Sauron is the servant of the Dark Lord, Morgoth. As for why he does, I do not know. Perhaps no one knows why. I am from Middle Earth. Now I must attend to the duties I was assigned," he said.

Elsa nodded. She watched as he got back in the ship and lifted up into the sky again. She noticed the name of the ship on the prow. Vingilot. Once he was in the sky, she turned back to the palace to find her sister, Princess Anna. She would want to hear about their new guardian who brought warning of an attack. It was only then that she realized that he had never mentioned the jewel upon his brow. Well, it was too late to ask now.

"You mean Prince Hans wants to attack us?" Anna exclaimed when her sister told her about their strange visitor. Anna pondered the news for a bit before she suddenly remembered something else.

"Elsa, I had been looking for you to tell you that we have some unexpected visitors. They say they have no idea how they ended up here, since they had been on an open plain in a land called Rohan and then suddenly found themselves here. One is tall and has long, blonde hair and he carries a bow along with a quiver of arrows and two knives. The other one is half his height. He has thick reddish-orange hair and a beard. He wears a helmet and lots of armour. He carries an axe. They refused to say what their names were until they met the ruler of our land. I had someone show them a room, since they have no way to get back home currently."

"Well, shall we go meet these guests then?" Elsa asked mischievously. "Let's show them who the ruler is."

The two visitors were surprised to receive a summons to see the king, or at least they assumed that the ruler was a king, almost right away. A servant showed them the way to the room. The first thing they noticed on entering was that it was much colder in this room than outside. The other thing was that the floor was extremely slippery. The shorter one slipped and fell on his back. The taller one managed to keep his balance, but he could not help his companion up without falling down himself.

"Really too bad you cannot get up," a female voice called. It was the princess who had met them earlier. She giggled as the short one suddenly found himself pushed up by something that felt like snow. When he turned around he saw a snowman.

"Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs," the snowman said. The tall one was so surprised that he nearly fell over. The snowman had an eternally snowing cloud over his head.

"Olaf, perhaps you should go play with Freya and Bjorn. We don't want to scare our guests too much, okay?" This was a different female voice. The snowman, Olaf, used his carrot nose to open the door and leave. "Come closer, so we can properly see you."

"We can't. It's too slippery," the short one protested.

"Come forward," the second voice commanded. The two guests obeyed, though the tall one sighed as he did so.

"Allow me to introduce my sister, Queen Elsa of Arendelle," Princess Anna said.

"Welcome to Arendelle," Queen Elsa said. The two were rather astonished at the fact that a female was the sole ruler of the land. Where they were from, females did rule by themselves. However, they remembered their manners and bowed to the queen.

"We thank you for your welcome, O Queen," the short replied.

"Might ask who you are? After all, I have told you who I am," Elsa questioned, hoping to receive an answer.

"We are from Middle Earth," the tall one began.

"Middle Earth?" Elsa interrupted, looking sharply at their guests before glancing over at her sister.

"Yes, why do you ask?" the tall one asked, almost sarcastically.

"Only this morning I had the opportunity to meet one Eärendil of Middle Earth, who said he was sent by Manwë and Varda to protect our borders," Elsa answered. The tall one's eyes had grown wide at the mention of Eärendil and was muttering indistinctly to himself.

Who do you think the two guests are? Probably rather obvious.
