Her

Summary: Zero hadn't cried but when she did, she was left like a lifeless shell.

Disclaimer: I do not own vampire knight.

A/n: thought I could make a hurt/comfort fic featuring Zero, though I am terribly sorry if this Zero is a girl. It wouldn't sit that well for me if this fic goes to a male Zero. So sorry about that. Anyways, do enjoy this very short fic. (is this considered a drabble?)

"I never knew when the last time I cried. And even if I did, it would be ages ago…"

Tears.

Cries.

When was the last time she had cried?

She hadn't when Shizuka came and killed her parents.

She didn't even cry when Shizuka bit her.

She didn't cry when her brother, Ichiru, betrayed her.

She hadn't even cried or even reacted at every bad things they tell her, be it behind her back or not.

She hadn't cried when Yagari had shot her.

She hadn't even cried when he came back and later on died.

She hadn't cried when she knew of Yuuki was actually a vampire, a pureblood, and Kaname's younger sister, and fiancée.

She hadn't cried when Yuuki suddenly changed a bit and went to Kaname, leaving her off.

No, she hadn't cried,

So, why now?

Why does she feel like tearing?

Oh, because she was a fool.

She knew, ever since that day.

She knew, everyone would leave her.

So why would she cry? Oh, because she cares, deep inside.

She just stood there, looking at his back as he continued to move on, not even bothering to look back to see the sadness pooling into those lavender eyes.

Closed, buried feelings resurfaced. Tears started to well up in her eyes before it slowly fell, cascading down on her porcelain skin.

One tear.

And another.

And another.

It continued on. All she had buried inside.

The hate she felt for Shizuka, for the purebloods, for the vampires.

The love she felt from her parents and her brother, and even to Yuuki.

For the care she had given and had been given towards her by people around her.

For the betrayal she felt.

The shock.

The sadness.

The happiness.

The jealousy.

Everything.

It had happened all too fast.

Slowly, she slid to the ground. Not caring how pathetic she looked right now, she continued to cry.

The facade she kept on, the strong font she had always had, had continued on to break, revealing nothing but a lifeless shell.

Revealing her.

Herself.

A cold person but also seeking for someone to accept her.

Someone willing to stand by her as herself.

A strong huntress but also a sensitive lady.

And she was herself.

She was and is Zero.
