The Queen's Escape

{Mirror on the wall, here we are again. Through my rise and fall you've been my only friend. You told me that they can't understand the man I am... So why are we talking to each other again?}

The Queen sat alone in the dark.

It was torture.

Her mind fought with her heart, her heavy eyes refusing to close and allow her to relax no matter how hard she tried.

It was torture.

Images of lips that were as red as blood, hair black as the night sky and skin white as snow invaded her memory. A voice soft as the summer breeze echoed in her ears.

It was torture.

Snow White…

The perfect being that had been driving The Queen into madness would surely be her downfall or saving grace.

The girl must be put to death… Yes?... No.

The battle raged on.

The Queen would plot to kill the young princess until guilt would come and eat her alive… That is when she would put to rest all feelings of uncertainty and fear. All emotions that held her back from truly becoming the fairest in the land.

She would drink from the bitter cup…

The one given to her by The Sisters, those three terrible witches that aided The Queen in times such as this.

With a shaky hand, The Queen reached for the cup.

Soon, the sour liquid ran down her throat, and she could feel it.

Anger. Jealousy. Rage.

Not a single pang of remorse ran through The Queen's body.

The dark covered her very soul. Took over her mind and ceased her worry.

It was a calm like she had never felt, though mixed with the horrid emotions that were forced upon her.

Hate. A lust for blood.

...It was torture.
