My first ever Lily/James oneshot! I've always thought that Lily and James Potter suited each other so well! They're one of my favorite HP couples and the love that they have for each other is astounding! I'm not sure how much I like the ending bit, but let know what you think. Read and Review please! ~AmaryllisPotter
He annoyed her in first year. He was like a pesky fly you just couldn't get rid of. Always pulling her pigtails and calling her carrot top. She got revenge by placing a bullfrog in his bed while he'd been sleeping. He had squealed so loudly.
In second year he exasperated her. Constantly pulling pranks on her, for example, he turned her hair neon blue for a week and no matter what she did she just couldn't fix it! Additionally, he continued to call her carrot top and pull her hair even after she hit him with a boils curse.
Third year was worse though. Every time she went to watch Alice and Marlene practice for a Quidditch match, he'd be there, showing off and being an arrogant prat as usual. He'd even started pranking poor Sev! This just infuriated her so she hexed him several times for his rude words and mean pranks.
In fourth year, she couldn't stand the sight of him. Anytime he saw her in the halls he'd call out "Hey Evans, wanna go out with me?" She'd always reply with "Drop dead Potter," and flip him off. He continued though, to persist in asking her out. She bat-bogey hexed him.
In fifth year he was intolerable. He just wouldn't leave her alone. Constantly jinxing people in the halls and the asking her out again! As if she'd go out with an arrogant toerag like him. And that incident after the DADA O.W.L. was the worst! He insulted her best friend in front of her and then expected her to go out with him. She suspected that he needed to go to the hospital wing and make sure that he didn't have a brain damage from the last time he fell off his broom.
In sixth year he befuddled her. He seemed to have grown up a bit. Pranks were sparse and only given to people who deserved them, like Malfoy and his cronies. He also left Snape alone unless Snape attacked first. He'd matured a lot, and she felt that she might have developed a teensy tiny crush on him. But she wouldn't admit it.
In seventh year she fell in love with him and never looked back. She never regretted it even though it eventually came at the cost of her life. They stuck together through thick and thin and even though death tore them apart, they left behind a living legacy.
