MEMORIES AT THE TRAINING GROUNDS

A/N: All this time, I have been writing NaruHina stories. Right now, I felt like challenging myself and wrote another story with another pairing! I made some editions in here..I realized that there are missing words..sheesh!! How troublesome...

Knock. Knock.

The knocking at my door made me jump slightly. A while ago, just before the knocks disrupted my train of thoughts, I was thinking about something – something that anyone would never expect for an ice cube like me to be thinking. I myself didn't know why these kinds of thoughts entered my head. Perhaps, I was influenced by Hinata's present relationship with Naruto.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The knocking came once again, though the knocks showed a bit of impatience. The clock on my wall chimed, announcing the third hour of the afternoon. The persistent knocks on my door and the chimes from the wall clock suddenly made me remember of the time that I had been waiting. I tried to hide the excitement inside me and hurriedly stood up from my favorite couch to open the door. Tenten was standing there when I opened the door, huffing and puffing with anger.

"Why didn't you open the door immediately, Neji-kun?" Tenten growled. The fierceness of her eyes was beautiful to behold, her flushed cheeks due to anger made her even more beautiful.

"I'm sorry. I was having my nap," I lied as I looked away. I couldn't afford myself to look at her face for more than five seconds, knowing that my cheeks would turn light pink.

She eyed me suspiciously and eventually sighed in defeat. "Alright. Come on; let's practice at the training grounds."

I followed her silently as we headed to the training grounds. That place had been etched with many memories of us. I frowned as I scanned through all the memories inside my head. They were all connected with training, nothing more. After a while, we stumbled into the grounds and viewed the place. The tree trunks had been scarred by the weapons Tenten threw and the ground had been stripped by my kaiten.

"Boy isn't this place a mess," Tenten whistled. She started to get her scrolls and looked at them carefully. "Oookay. Let's start training!"

I nodded, activated my infamous byakugan, and started to twirl. My chakra started to surround me and I went faster. Through the byakugan, I can see Tenten throwing her weapons swiftly. She looked so graceful, her body moving fluidly at every step she made. My thoughts began to get wild and I felt my heartbeat accelerate. I didn't understand why but my feet suddenly stopped moving. I immediately felt a sharp pain on my left shoulder prior to my abrupt stop and she gasped.

"Neji-kun! Your...your shoulder. Oh my, I'm sorry," she said hurriedly and ran to me. I have never seen such an expressive face as hers as she proceeded to tend my wound. I felt my muscles twitch when she touched me; I didn't know what to do. Butterflies filled my gut and I started to break a couple of sweat. Without even thinking,I reached my right hand and touched her cheek.

"N-Neji-kun," she said with surprise. She looked at me, blushing profusely. I slowly bent down until I felt my lips against hers. The sensation sent sparks at my whole body.

"I love you Tenten," I whispered after we parted. She blushed even more as she giggled and proceeded on bandaging my wound.

I knew that from this day onwards, my memories of this training ground would not only contain the trainings we had but also the love we shared for each other.

- O.o.O.o.O-

Bow! (giggles) I know that it's very short, shorter than "Her Lips". I just don't have enough knowledge about Neji and Tenten so...gomen! All I ever knew is that 'neji' is the Japanese word for 'screw'! =)

Anyway, please press that button down there. Arigato!!
