Icekit raced after her brother,~ Chapter 1

Crunchkit shook her off. "Wow, Icekit! You fight amazing! You'll make an amazing warrior one day!"

Then their father, Graystar, padded up. "She will be an amazing battle opponent. Now, you two are six moons now so its time for you to become a apprentice." He leapt onto the Gorgestone. "All cats who can jump the gorge gather near the Gorgestone to hear my words!"

Slowly cats began to pad out of their dens and group in the large clearing nearest the Gorgestone.

Then their mother, Sagebush, dashed up and sat next to them. "This is it! My three wonderful kits becoming apprentices!"

Stormkit padded up at last and plopped down next to Crunchkit. " I hope I get Silverleg. She's one of the best warriors!" Sagebush shushed him.

Graystar's gaze began to sweep his cat's. "We are gathered today to make three kits of mine apprentices. I have thought carefully about their mentors and I have finally decided. Stormkit, Crunchkit and Icekit please step forward."

Icekit got up and followed her brothers to the middle of the crowd.

Graystar looked down on them. "Icekit you have reached the age of 6 moons old and are now ready to become a apprentice. So from this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you shall be know as Icepaw. Breezecloud, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received great training from Wavewhisper and have shown great determination and perseverance. I hope you will pass these qualities down onto Icepaw."

Icepaw saw Breezecloud pad up and she quickly touched noses with him.

Graystar moved on. "Stormkit you have also reached 6 moons and will now become a from this moment on until you have earned your warrior name you shall be known as Stormpaw. Wavewhisper you have shown great achievement with Breezecloud and I trust you will pass on your great mentoring skills onto Stormpaw."

Wavewhisper whom was siting next to him touched her nose to his.

Graystar smiled. "And finally Crunchkit you are also 6 moons of age. So from this moment on until you have earned your warrior name you shall be known as Crunchpaw. Silverleg you have also been taught by Wavewhisper and I trust you will pass on your amazing battle skills onto Crunchpaw."

Icepaw glanced over and saw Silverleg and Crunchpaw touching noses.

"Icepaw! Stormpaw! Crunchpaw!"

The clan chanted their names while the warriors congratulated Breezecloud, Wavewhisper and Silverleg on getting an apprentice.

Breezecloud padded up to them his eyes glinting with happiness. "You three better get some shut eye. Tomorrow were going to join the dawn patrol and explore the territory a bit."

The three nodded and dashed off towards the apprentice den.

Inside only Whiskerpaw remained awake. "Hey Icepaw. You and your brothers come to sleep?"

Icepaw nodded. "Were going on the dawn patrol tomorrow."

Whiskerpaw nodded to three moss nest's lined with sheep's wool . "Chose one."

Crunchpaw pushed past and slid into one sighing. "It's nice in this nest…"

Stormpaw too slid into one and rested his head on his paws. Unable to hold back from the nest's Icepaw lay down in one. She loved the feel of the soft wool and yawned hugely.

Whiskerpaw smiled at her. "You're really lucky I found that wool. I steeped on thorn chasing the sheep around."
