Caesar Ivashkov, Sophomore in High School. My parents didn't want to send me to an Academy, being a new generation of Dhampirs, made them nervous. It wasn't that they thought I couldn't handle it- they knew I could.
After Uncle Eddie taught my brother everything he knew and my parents finally sent him to an Academy just so he could have a social life with others of his race, I begged them to do the same.
I finally won the argument- if there's one thing that I've done right, is learn how to battle with words. I'm not smart, like my mother or charming, like my father. Not that it mattered to them, they just wanted me to be happy and do my best. The only reason they agreed was because my brother backed me up with it. He's only a year older, my sister a year younger. Two girls, one boy. My mother was proud, an older brother to look out for her two daughters?
My mother might be human, but that doesn't mean she grew up ignorant of the vampire's world. From the stories I've heard, her father was strict. He didn't let her go to school. He home schooled her and her two sisters.
It's not a topic that really came up. Maybe that's why she didn't homeschool us. We were sent to a normal school for elementary and middle school. I may not be very good at sitting in school and doing class work, but I can fight. I've given others more bloody noses and broken bones than should even be possible.
My sister isn't the violent type, instead talking after our mother and preferring to use her knowledge to fight. She took easily to sitting for eight hours and just soaking up the knowledge.
With sending Declan and me to a new school, they decided to send Winter with us. She wasn't happy. Like I said, she didn't like violence, and that's all that she thought would come from going.
I wish that was the only thing that went wrong within the next five years. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Why don't we start at the first day, the day that set future events in motion.

I hate ideas that won't leave you alone. I skipped school to but The Ruby Circle and I finished it the next day (believe me, if I didn't work that night or even go to school it would've been done within two hours.)
This takes (about) 15.5 years after the events of The Ruby Circle. We'll see familiar faces and a bunch of new ones.
Caesar is female. And the main person in the story. I've never been good with future stories SO any references to Current events (as of 2015) will more than likely be my take on it.
And I don't own the universe this is set in. But the good thing is that Mead can come back to it, if she wants so the series is just on hiatus for who-knows how long!
And the title Ignis est caligo is google translated Fire's Mist in Latin. Correct me if that's wrong. Please. Hopefully the title will make more sense. At some point. Or I'll change it.
