-Disclaimer : All goes to C.S. Lewis (except the nurse).

-Résumé : Short Os on Susan after her family dies in the train accident. In an asylum.

- Soundtrack : I was listening to about the first minute and a half of 'Only the beginning of the adventure' by Harry Gregson-Williams. I find it makes the story sweet-ish.

CAN'T TAKE IT IN

"Miss Pevensie? Time for dinner", says an elderly nurse to a young girl sitting in a chair by the window.

"It's Queen Susan the Gentle! I tell you every time! I'll let it pass again but age must be slowly getting to your head Mr. Tumnus", answers the last Pevensie sibling.

Her hair in a mess, her face is pale and her eyes hold a haunted look. She looks nothing like the young woman who once ruled Narnia with her brothers and sister.

"Of course you are dear", answers patiently the nurse putting the tray of food on the table in front of the girl and handing her the plastic cutlery. She sits down on the other chair as her patient slowly starts to eat in a way as if she were a Queen. Only mad.

The nurse's eyes fill with pity every time she looks at the girl and remembers how she ended up being taken into care in the asylum.

Her whole family had died. Her brothers whom she called High King Peter and King Edmund, her younger sister Queen Lucy the Valiant, her mother and father, and finally two close friend she considered as grand-parents, to who she refers to as the Lord and Lady of Narnia who Came The First Day. Oh, and also her only cousin, Lord Eustace the Dragon Tamer and Dame Jill, a friend of her cousins.

They had all died in the same train accident a few weeks ago.

"Now Susan", asks the nurse as she picks up the tray, "what would you like to this afternoon dear?"

Susan looks slowly up slowly at the nurse. Her eyes twinkle with madness and grief. She jumps up and claps her hands like a small child.

"I know! Hide and Seek! I'll hide in the Wardrobe but don't worry if you don't see me coming back, Mr. Tumnus, I'll be okay. I'll be in Narnia."

The end
