Tyr awoke with a start, his pistol in hand. Unfortunately he couldn't shoot the demons. He could shoot the demons living in his daily nightmares, he took them into custody all the time. But not his demons, no the were tougher than that. Tyr sighed and rolled upright in bed, placing his pistol on the nightstand. He checked his phone, 2 missed calls from Kiva. Tyr chuckled, his impatient young partner could barely stand still long enough to make a call let alone call twice. Something must be wrong, Tyr mused. He set his phone done so he could get ready for the day.
Rising out of bed and stretching(and trying to ignore the two permanent sore spots on his chest) Tyr walked to the closet to get his clothes. About 10 minutes later Tyr walked out of his apartment and toward the Precinct. As he walked Tyr thought back on this dream last night. He knew what the memory was from but he didn't wanna think about it. Unfortunately a couple of his demons had other ideas. Almost 7 years ago Tyr was on the trail of a murdering pimp, Pimp Grizzly, when a stake-out turned shoot-out had a bloody ending. It the midst of his grim remembering Tyr walked through the front doors of the 31st Street Precinct. He tried to clear his head as he entered squad room.
"Hey Ty!" A shout came the back of the room. Tyr sighed and grinned faintly. He could practically hear his partner buzz around the squad room. He he didn't know better, he'd assume she was high on speed or maybe nip. But Tyr knew better, even though her desk was dangerously close to the coffee maker.
"You are late." Kiva said, hands on her hips. "And you have been ignoring me!"
"Mhm" Tyr grunted.
"What? Nothing to say for yourself?!?" Kiva accused.
"Maybe I didn't want talk." Tyr growled and sat down at his desk in the corner of the squad room. He moved a pile of paperwork off his keyboard and logged onto his computer. As he began to get caught up on his reports, Try's mind began to drift to his nightmare.
