Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who.
Even River Song got snowed in sometimes.
This time, the snow was up to her chin, and she didn't dare open the door for fear her den would drown in powder.
She wanted to use her vortex manipulator and get out of this claustrophobic little place, but it had died, and it was too cold to charge properly.
So, in her pajamas, she curled up on the couch with a cup of tea to read. Sure, it was uncomfortable to be stuck. In fact, it reminded her a lot of some events in her life she'd rather not speak of, but she'd done it for years! She could handle one day. Then two days. Maybe this one last third day...
Right?
But she couldn't concentrate on her book. Nor could she concentrate on drawing or studying. In fact, nothing she did seemed to hold her attention.
She had quite the cabin fever by the time she heard a loud wheezing and whining out back.
River ran to the window, the tiles of her kitchen feeling frozen on her bare feet, and looked out. The TARDIS had landed in the middle of her garden, and The Doctor was attempting to open the door, somewhat unsuccessfully.
She watched with a smile as he managed to open the door just enough to slip out and proceeded to fall directly into the snow. He only wore his suit. He must be freezing.
She knew he'd never get the door open, so she slid the window frame up and called out. "Hello, sweetie! Need some help?"
"River! I love snow, but this is too much!" He hit the snow as if to say it had been bad and sent a spray of powder into the house, right into her face. She laughed.
"Oh, just wait there! I'm coming." She ran off to her room and changed quickly. By the time she came back, he was pulling his way through the kitchen window. She shooed him. "I said just wait!"
"I don't want to. It's cold."
"I meant in the TARDIS."
He fell in, taking a few clomps of snow with him and landing in a heap on her tiles. She smiled down at him and slipped on her snow boots. "Cold, my love?"
The Doctor nodded and pushed his bottom lip forward.
River hurried into the other room and pulled on her thick jacket. "Got this off the planet of the oods. Fun place that is but cold." She tied the belt and whisked him off the floor. "Come on. Let's go somewhere warm. I haven't been out of this house for two days."
Horror passed over him, and she kissed him on the cheek before climbing out the window.
He clambered after her, managing to knock her over into the snow.
I got bored, and there's a bunch of snow outside, so this happened. I'd love to hear from you guys!
