"Bye Dad! Bye Mum! See you tomorrow!"
Shawn Brady waved goodbye to his daughter, Claire, as she left to spend the night with his cousin who was also his brother in law, Eric Brady. As he sat on the porch of the little cottage in Colorado that they were staying at for the summer, he reflected on how his life had turned out since he left Salem with his family about ten years ago.
Shawn had set sail to travel the world with Belle and their daughter, Claire. They had spent the first 3 years just sailing from place to place, experiencing the different cultures of the many countries they visited and during that time, Shawn and Belle grew stronger in their relationship and strengthened the bond of their little family. However, as Claire grew older, they decided to find a more stable lifestyle to raise their daughter. That only worked for a year and soon they were back to travelling around the world, staying a few months in each new destination before moving to the next one. Life wasn't always easy but they got by doing odd jobs wherever they went. Belle had been able to design clothes while they were in New York and eventually her work became known in the fashion world which helped them out financially. Although she had many offers from well known designers, she didn't want to be tied down and did freelance designing instead. With all the travelling they did, Claire was home schooled.
It had been an interesting journey and now they were in Colorado spending some time with Eric. Belle came onto the porch and handed her husband a cup of coffee. They sat in a comfortable silence for a while, just watching the sunset. When they were done, Shawn helped Belle tidy up the cottage and then they both settled down on the couch to watch a movie. Realizing that her husband wasn't really paying attention to the movie, she asked, "Shawn, is everything okay?"
He replied, "Yeah babe, everything is fine."
"Then what's on your mind?"
"I was just thinking of how far we have come in our lives. We have been through a lot and have so much to be thankful for. I don't know what I would do without you and Claire."
Belle smiled at her husband and said, "We will always be together love. We have been through our fair share of problems but we have always managed to overcome them with our love. I love you so much Shawn Brady and that will always be true."
Shawn knew that she meant that with all her heart and he kissed his beautiful wife. He was sure that no matter what happened; his love for Isabella Black Brady would never die. It would last forever and always...
