AN: Just a quick bit that I was inspired to do. I've been meaning to get back to my other stories, but I haven't really had the time or energy to yet. So, here's to Doctor Who, my current favorite TV show! This story is based on that small scene in the Season 5 finale where Amy finally meets her parents again, after forgetting about them for most of her life.

Oh, and before I forget! I do not own Doctor Who. It belongs to… Well, I guess you could say Steven Moffat owns it now.

Her Nevers

They step forward, turn toward her. They belong here, yet they don't. They are standing here before her, survivors of the nothingness, survivors of lost time. She's never seen them before. She's never known their faces. She's never called their names.

She's never held their hands, never clutched their arms. She's never walked between them, never walked by their side. She's never eaten their meals, never lived in their home.

She's never loved them.

She's never slammed their doors, never broken their plates. She's never stared across an empty table at empty eyes. She's never turned away from them, never walked out the door.

She's never hated them.

She's never found smiles in their eyes, never shown them joy in her mouth. She's never played with them, never joked with them. She's never learned their quirks, never noticed their habits.

She's never laughed with them.

She's never screamed their names, never ached their pain. She's never hidden under their blankets, never asked for their help. She's never reached out for their hands, never looked for their strength.

She's never cried with them.

They have been lost forever. They have been found forever. Her nevers are gone, replaced by forevers.

And now, in this moment, she only has one question. The most important question in the world, the most important question in all the worlds. The one question that she cannot recall.

Where is your Raggedy Man now?
