Demyx had once asked him, "Why do you fight for a heart?"
"Oh crap!"
And he's suddenly grabbed into the alleyway.
He almost immediately summons his weapon on instinct, when he stops. His assailant is merely a teenage girl, looking only about seventeen or so. Her head is tilted to the side, focused on something else, despite the fact that her grab on his cloak is still quite tight.
He decides to let this play out, see where the piece land.
(...the moonlight makes her look black and white.)
And then he hears it; the yells and cries.
"Where's the girl?"
"I didn't see her..."
"Damn it! The thief took my money away!"
Eyes flash back to the girl, a searching gaze putting the pieces together. So this girl was a thief...?
His gaze goes back to the search party, watching as run closer and closer...and then right past.
Their voices fade away with distance.
Then...silence.
A few moments pass before the girl lets out a sigh, relief filling her voice.
"Thank gawd. I didn't think I'd ever be able to get away..." She starts to turn her head to meet his gaze...
(He's not really sure how it happened, nor does he really care...)
...When her lips somehow touch his.
(It's a moment that seems to last forever.)
And suddenly, he can feel it all...
Her warmth, her touch...
Her heart.
That sweet feeling of her heart against his chest, that comforting and exciting thud that seemed to blanket him...he feels so alive.
Almost...as if he has a heart of his own.
But eternity can only last so long, and suddenly it's gone as the girl pushes him away. And the moment became only a moment.
(...He wants more.)
Her eyes are so wide that he can see the stars shining in their depths.
"I...uh...th-thanks for...I mean sorry! Sorry for using you! I just...had to get away from those guys and on instinct I grabbed the nearest curtain, except it turned out it wasn't a curtain and it was really...Hi! My name is...Yuffie?"
And she runs away, gone.

Saix never answered.
AN: I think the sad thing about this is that you can put the name 'Axel' in the last sentence, and it still would probably make sense...Er...please give me tips on how to improve? Haha, but yay, this is one of the first Yaix ever! (Yes, I just had to put that in cause Yaix is the awesome-est sounding pairing ever. Well, that is, after Barfie)
