Liz and Gil are best friends, have been for years, so it's natural that they hang out a lot.

Just like two normal, totally platonic best friends would. And they absolutely do not make out or anything like that, no sir.

... the above statement is a lie. Let me tell you why.

...

...

It's kind of an accident, the first time it happens. As these things always are.

They're just sitting there in the middle of Liz's living room playing Halo, and she is totally beating Gil's ass, much to his displeasure, and he starts flicking her because that's what he does when he's pissed off at her, and she starts hitting him, but they're laughing now, and they hold each other's gaze for an infinitesimal second longer than usual and the laughter dies away.

And suddenly they're kissing and there are hands and limbs everywhere and tongues and well, you get the picture.

Then they stop. And it's awkward.

Gil leaves, and Liz is shaking.

They don't hang out for a while after that. It's understandable.

...

...

The second time it happens, it's not so much an accident as an inevitability.

Liz knocks on Gil's door, pushes the bell too, for good measure. He answers and can barely stutter out the single syllable of her name before she's across the threshold, into his arms, on his lips and the door slams tight. That was that.

Second time around, it was less, oh shit what have we done, a little more, this feels entirely long overdue.

They decide that if no one sees it or knows it happened, and they pretend it didn't, then it's okay. Yeah. They know it's not exactly right, but they don't care too much about the specifics.

...

...

Word gets out. Of course, it's Gil's fault. He tells Antonio and Francis, who are about the worst secret keepers on the planet, and they tell... everyone. Liz is pissed, but not as pissed as she thought she might be in this situation. Gil gets a few new bruises for his troubles, but it doesn't bother him any more than it usually does.

No one is really very shocked by the news, because virtually no one bought the whole "just best friends" bullshit anyway.

Antonio grins and says something about it being only a matter of time, and Francis winks and asks if hey, maybe could join in on the fun? Liz kicks him and Gil and Antonio laugh.

It's really not so bad, after all.

...

...

So yeah. Elizabeta and Gilbert are best friends. Always have been, always will be.

They are also kind of in love with each other.

But you probably saw that coming anyway.

PruHun are my OTP forever okay c:

The title is the name of a song by The Like, and has nothing to do with the fic apart from the fact I was listening to it while writing~. (which might I add was at five a.m, so yeah, go figure.) and I suck at coming up with titles, so. Feedback appreciated, as always!

(also this is probably AU lalalala i don't know)
