A silver streak tore through the forest, chasing an amber streak that was racing ahead in the full moonlight. The hoots of a wild owl echoed through the trees, frightened by the loud thump and growling that was coming from the furry mass at the base of the oak he sat in.

The solid black owl peered down, blinking slowly at the hairy pile beneath him; at the two creatures that seemed to be playing, not fighting. The dark haired one nipped at the larger silver one's tail, and was rewarded with a tumble, exposing a deep red belly. The grey fuzzy paws held down the much smaller animal, and a head lifted in the air letting out a happy howl.

The owl twitched, but watched as the grey one was toppled over, and the younger one pinned down the silvery head. Letting out a softer howl of it's own, the petite beast began bathing the older one's head with it's tongue. A soft pleasing rumble came out of the larger one's throat and began to shake the branch, the owl had to dig in his talons to hold on. He examined very carefully these two new inhabitants of the woods. Their pointy ears and long tails, the soft fur that covered their bodies, the four powerful legs – he could see the claws gleaming in the pale light. Creatures made to kill, but they were so gentle with each other. He cocked his head to the side and continued to study.

After a few moments of mutual grooming, they curled up together. Their heads each buried in the soft underbelly of the other, a grey and tawny yin-yang. They lay together for hours, every once in a while emitting a whine or snarl as they changed positions.

Right before daybreak, as the owl began to preen himself for sleep, the amber one awoke and nuzzled the more dominant one. Nibbling on a silver ear, they were both finally stood on all fours and stretched. He watched as the smaller one led the way out of the forest, down a little used wizard's path. The bird hooted a goodbye, and ambled down the branch to his nest.

Remus came out of the hut, dressed in his robes and grinning at the beautiful young red-head sitting on a bench outside the door.

"When did you…" he asked, his voice trailing off.

"I went back to Hogwarts asked McGonagall and Hermione to help me. I didn't realize I would actually become that…" she replied with a soft smile.

"Ginny Weasley, I love you my little Animagi."

"And I love you..."
