A quick drabble I wrote, because I need to get this out of my chest.
So, Sam and Luna. The pairing beginning in "L is for Love," some like it, some don't like it, but almost everybody uses this pairing to give some sort of drama for Luna.
And no, I'm not going to join the Saluna. In fact, I'm going to add a safe boat that should've been added a long time ago.
So, without further ado, let's begin.
"I'm sorry, Luna, but I don't think this'll work out."
Those were the first words Luna Loud, the musical member of the infamous Loud House, heard from Sam Sharp, her crush at her school. She just asked her out on a date, trying to take it slow, but Sam was apparently a little too quick at figuring out her intentions.
Upon hearing that, Luna leaned against the locker nearby and folded her arms before taking a deep breath.
"I'm really sorry, Luna, but I don't feel comfortable dating someone I don't know that well," Sam said with a worried tone. "Are you upset?"
"Upset's not the word I would use; I'm worried about how my family's going to react when they hear the news," Luna rubbed her forehead. "They were the ones who convinced me to ask you out."
"I see..." Sam frowned and twiddled her fingers. "You're... Taking this a lot better than I thought you would."
"Well, no offense, Sam, but I just had a crush on you, nothing more, nothing less," Luna answered, shaking her head. "Could it have developed into proper feelings? Sure. Was it just a quick spark that wouldn't last long? That's also possible. But it was still just a crush. It's not the end of the world."
Sam smiled and leaned in the locker next to Luna. "You know? You're not the first person I've turned down, but everybody before you always took it badly."
Luna raised an eyebrow. "How badly?"
"One of them outright quit the music club because I didn't become his girlfriend," Sam answered.
"For real?!" Luna chuckled. "What's the point of joining the club if you just wanna get a girlfriend?"
"That's what I told him, but he didn't listen," Sam sighed. "You... Won't quit the club now that I rejected you, right?"
"Of course not, I'm not that pathetic," Luna shook her head. "I want to one day be able to play music all across the world, and be a great musician, things that the club can help me with."
Luna smiled. "Besides, I like the club way too much to just quit it."
Sam smiled, then got an idea. "H-Hey, how about we do something like this: If you ever have something that you need a friend for, you can call me, and we can try to get to know each other better."
Luna turned to Sam, and the duo exchanged fist bumps as she answered:
"Sure thing."
