He stared at the other as in total disbelief. He longed to reach out his arm and grasp the other, as if to hold him and try to tell himself that this was not real. He was not doing this to him, he would never hurt him he knew he wouldn't. But he was.
"I'm… sorry Cam.." The other whispered. His heart broke at every word the other was uttering. Was everything they had together for not. Where the sleepless nights where they both snuck out to the barn and the participated in heat filled nights of passion, with slick skin and heated breaths as they both proclaimed their love for each other.
He wanted to cry, but his mannish pride prevented him from doing so, so opted for a broken look one that made the other uneasy, fidgeting every so often.
"Ash…" Cam whispered his name almost reverently. "Why?" He had to know. Why did the other not love him anymore after promising him forever.
"I… fell in love with her…"
And he knew immediately who 'she' was. She was the new farm girl who moved into the vacant farm almost a year ago. He knew he should have been worried when Ash seemed to be spending more time with her then with himself. Ash had reassured him that nothing would come of this and that he would always love him, always love Cam but…
"You lied…" Cam whispered, turning around and almost reflexively staring at a photo of the both of them as small children, playing in Cam's families pastures.
"I'm sorry.." Ash repeated. "I'm.. just going to go now…"
Cam didn't saying anything, he was still facing away from the other. He heard the click of the door closing and then he broke down.
Why?
