Suitable Godparents
A 5-year-old Grace O'Neill stood in the doorway to her mother's lab. "Yuck!" she exclaimed at the sight in front of her. Her parents broke their kiss, use to being interrupted by at least one of their children or a member of SG-1, usually Daniel. Jack turned towards his daughter knowing she was wise far beyond her years but, like her farther, she liked to act dumber than she was.
"Hey, how do you think you got here?"
"Immaculate conception." she said flippantly. "I'm pretty sure I'm Jesus." She smiled. "That or the dark lord of the Sith" she giggled, so much like her mother.
"You have been spending too much time with your Uncle Teal'c." he smiled "And 'immaculate your conception was not'!" He said in his best Yoda voice impression.
"No! Too much information!" she squealed putting her hands over her ears.
Laughing Sam asked. "Where's your brother?"
"What?" Hands still over her ears.
Jack grabbed his daughter's hands and dragged them away from her ears and asked again. "Where is your brother?"
"Oh" Now able to hear her parent's request. "He's still in the GYM with Uncle Teal'c and Uncle Cam."
"Don't you have a lesson with Daniel soon?" Jack said looking at his watch.
"Yeah."
"Well don't you think you should get going?"
"But Daddy! Languages are boring! And I can already speak five and read and write in English, Ancient, Latin and several dialects of goa'uld. Surely that's enough."
"Well what does Daniel want to teach you today?" (A/N And don't call be Sheryl.)
"He said something about the history of the Ori according to the book of origin. I don't see the point. It's just a meaningless religious, bigoted rant, which give an unrepresentative view of events and is even more pointless now the Ori are no longer a threat anymore. He might as well tell me to read 'Mein Kampf' again."
"I think we need to have a little chat with Daniel about suitable reading material." Sam said to Jack.
"Oh and Anti Vala said she would show me how to hide three guns, six knives, a goa'uld hand device and a 8 by 10 box in nothing but a black cocktail dress." Shrugged Grace.
"You ever feel like maybe our choice of godparents was a little … out there?" Sam gestured with her hands.
"We had no choice. They are the only ones with security clearance that we remotely trust with something so important." Jack smiled.
