For generations the pure blood supremacy has been working on a number of different objective and goals so that they would be assured a higher place in both society and comfort. Much like the Order of Illuminati they have a secret society called the Order of Magik which if you went looking for information regarding them you would be hard to come by. Part of this was largely due to the members ensuring that no word of there work got out into the general population of Wizards and Witches and also in part due to their more liberal efforts in dealing with anyone who asked too many questions. Members of this very secret order ranged up and down the spectrum of society and while for the most part one had to be a pure blood to be a member the Order of Magik did occasionally allow non pure blooded in as members. There was nary a Wizard or Witch that was asked who did not aspire to become a member, due to two reasons. By definition a Pureblood was someone who was 3rd Generation. This meant both sets of Grandparents as well as both parents as well. The more you could trace your linage back the higher the standing in general society. So when a pureblooded witch or wizard were approached and asked to join they would immediately recognize the standard and would know it held no small amount of prestige. However for those that were not pure blooded, they could hope to pass down there membership to there next full-blooded male Heir Wizard.
One of the foundations which the Order of Magik supported it-self on was knowledge. It was because they had access to not only all of the prophecies that were stored in the ministry of magic but they also had a great deal of unknown as well. The Order of Magik over the years usually had at least one major and minor seer in their ranks. This they used to help steer the course of history through both dark and not so dark times.
Approximately 100 or so years back in the late 1880's a young seer by the name of Caroline Curry had produced a major forked prophecy. It spoke of a time in the future where a great event would occur. Darkness would blight the earth twice, each time darker then the one before. If the darkness came forth a third time however then all hope would be loss for a thousand years more.
This of course sent the members into a panic. They spent years and decades researching, to find additional clues on how best to traverse these paths that they would soon face. Little by little they found the clues they were looking for and what part each of them had to play as the events were to unfold as they wished them to. Even then there was little guarantee, what hardships would be forthcoming and if they would be enough to prevent the third darkness that was foretold long ago…
