Ponderings of an Empty Cup

Pre-Fic A/N:
Okay, this is the way I saw Snape dying in my mind Pre-DH.
By his own hand, by his own decision.
He had had enough of others actions influencing his life, but, of course, in the end, he was still sort of screwed over...
In the end, he still did not matter (by his perspective...).

You stare into the depths of the cup and ponder.
How closely this cup comes to resembling my life.
You began life as a child, perhaps never an innocent child, but nevertheless, once you were a child.
You once had hopes. You once had dreams.
But similarly to your cup, fate saw fit to empty you.
No longer do you hope.
No longer do you dream.
You remember.
Staring at the empty cup, you consider.
How far are you? From being the cup half full? The cup half empty?
Could you have ever been the cup full? No, never full, but half-full? Surely thre was a time when you were that?
Perhaps, but that memory is one of the few that escapes you.
But the others come, and you no longer have the strength to resist.
You remember.
As you stare into the cup's empty hold, you wonder.
Could it be your time?
Your turn to become someone's memory?
But fate is not kind, and had not saw fit to allow such an honor.
So youdecide.
Yes, it is my turn.
Your cup is no longer empty.
Yet still it resembles your life, the poison your presence spreads.
You do not wish to remember, so you do not.
You act.
And when the cup is again as empty as your life, you smile.
Fate had lost, she would no longer torture you.
Then your gaze is pulled from your empty cup, and no longer do you stare into it.
Instead, you inquire.
Who's memory shall I be?
But the cup has slipped from your grasp, and breath has already become shallow.
It is too late to lament.
Fate has won.

Eh…yes. Perhaps that was a bit depressing. And vague. Very vague. :D
If there are questions, just review (please??) and I'd be happy to answer by email or PM.
Thanks,
Jessy
P.S. And as always, I believe flames are just a bit of a waste of time. If the fic was so bad why are you wasting more time reviewing?
But, anyways, I'd like constructive criticism, can't get better without it. :D
Oh, and as a side note. When I ask to be critiqued, I'd like it to be about the fan fiction. Not the author's note. XD
