If you and I
Were just a dream
I would never want to wake up
To this cruel world
Ayumu looked down at the Hiyono sleeping on her desk. His eyes took in the peaceful expression on her face. He sighed in resignation. He'll just have to wait for her to wake up. He certainly couldn't leave her in the school alone.
You are always in my dreams
I never want you to fade in my heart
"Ayumu," Hiyono murmured softly in her sleep. Ayumu looked over at her from his seat to her right. "I love you, Ayumu."
If my dream were a reality
I would never fall asleep
Hiyono woke up. It was slightly dark in the room. She rubbed her eyes and looked out the window to see the sun setting in the horizon.
"Ah," she gasped softly. "I overslept."
If you were with me
I would be so happy
"Finally you're awake," a voice spoke from her right. Hiyono glanced over to see Ayumu resting in a chair next to her desk.
"Ayumu!" Hiyono couldn't hide her surprise.
If I could see your expression
I would keep in my memory always
Ayumu stood up and walked to the door. "Come on," he said and pulled open the door. Not once had he looked at her.
I want you to look at me
I want you to love me
Hiyono got up and followed Ayumu out of the school. She couldn't understand why Ayumu wouldn't look at her. Not talking she could understand. After all, he never really spoke to anybody but to his sister-in-law and probably his brother. It was just his not even glancing at her that she was confused about. Hiyono didn't try to ask him about his weird behavior. She just chatted to him the whole way.
I know we can never be together
I can feel myself breaking inside
'Does she really love me?' Ayumu couldn't help wondering.
Hiyono and Ayumu finally made to their destination and Hiyono realized that it was her apartment.
"Thanks for walking me home," Hiyono said.
Ayumu didn't comment. Hiyono looked sadly at him.
'Why won't he talk to me?' she wondered.
Ayumu turned and walked past Hiyono. Just as he was about to pass her he reached out and placed something in her hand. Hiyono's eyes widened and she turned around but Ayumu had already run off.
She slowly unclenched her fist with the object inside it. She saw that it was a small ring. Attached to it was a note.
"I love you too."
But dreams can become reality.
