Some Kind of Magic
"Oh god." Emma groaned as she looked around her bedroom. There were clothes scatteredeverywhere, and she greatly cursed herself for letting Ruby anywhere near her closet. When the she-wolf had found out about Emma and Killian's date, she had offered to choose an outfit for her friend, and in doing so, she had practically destroyed Emma's room. Dammit Ruby!
The blonde woman grabbed her laundry basket, and began piling clothes into it, noticing that almost every single piece of clothing had wine stains on them, the same wine that Red had brought over to Emma's new apartment. I have a huge bone to pick with you Red!Emma thought to herself as she loaded the basket.
"What's wrong, love?" Killian's voice lilted from behind the blonde and Emma turned to look at him. His raven hair was tussled from sleep and a pair of grey sweat pants hung low on his hips. How can he look that good after last night? He and Emma had spent the entire night together, talking, cuddling and making love. She shivered at the thought of their shared words; the whispered I love you's, the calling of each other's names as they tumbled over the edge together.
"That's the last time I let Ruby near my clothes." Emma sighed as Killian began picking up the discarded clothing. He grabbed one of Emma's bras from the floor and looked at her with an eyebrow raised and a smirk. The blonde woman rolled her eyes, telling him that she wasn't in the mood. Killian simply nodded and threw it in the bucket with the other dirty clothes.
When Emma's wardrobe has finally been picked up, she grabbed the basket and headed for the laundry room with Killian following close behind. He had seen the monstrous contraption before, the one that cleaned clothing, but he was still mystified by it. Why any person would let a metal thing wash their attire, was a mystery the pirate had yet to solve.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked, suddenly noticing Killian's confused expression.
"How does it work?"
"The washing machine?" The pirate nodded, still examining the metal box. "I'll show you, come here." Emma beckoned him, and he took her hand as she pulled him closer. "Throw everything in there." Emma explained as she opened the door of the machine. Killian obeyed and soon had every piece in the metal box.
"I still don't understand, lass."
"Just wait a second." Emma said as she measured out three cups of powder, and then poured it in with her clothes. Killian watched as she shut the door tightly and pressed a few buttons before the machine seemed to come to life beside him. He jumped and tried to strike the thing with his hook, and he would have if Emma hadn't stopped his arm in time. "Sit." The blonde instructed as she backed against the wall of the small room and slid down it, until she hit the floor.
Killian followed suit and Emma took his hand in hers while watching the frightened expression fade from his face. "Watch." The blonde commanded as she turned her gaze from the pirate to the machine in front of her. Killian did as he was told, and after a while, his eye lids dropped, exhaustion folding over him as he continuously observed the spinning clothing.
"Must be some kind of magic." The pirate yawned as he settled further into Emma, soon falling victim to sleep. The blonde woman smiled down at him as she stroked the hair from his face and pressed a chaste kiss to his head.
"Must be." She mumbled before succumbing to her own fatigue.
The End
