This is a one shot about Jim and I really hope you like it and leave a little review on the way out! THANKYOU:)
He couldn't take it anymore. The thoughts of his father bombarded him like drenching rain drops. All he could think about these past few days had been what used to be, what could have been, and why it wasn't. For 12 years, his father hadn't been there, and now, for no reason, Jim couldn't get him out of his head? He didn't want to think about him, didn't want to miss him, didn't want to care. He hated him. But he wouldn't go away.
This was it.
Jim burst out the front door of his mother's bed and breakfast, the Benbow Inn. The sky was cloudy and dark, but the wind was just right. Jim had to escape his thoughts somehow, and this was how he would do it.
He grabbed his only solar surfer from behind the Inn and headed toward the docks. The clouds in the sky grew darker, but Jim paid them no mind. His only thought was to get away from what wouldn't leave him be.
He mounted his solar surfer, hit the thruster, and gently glided to a secluded area outside of the city. This was his spot, even though he wasn't permitted to be there, but whoever listened to those signs anyway? He was determined to do what he had done millions of times before.
He landed on the edge of the dock. There was no need for him to estimate the wind and vertical drop; he knew them like he knew that what he was about to do would ease him of all his present pain.
Jim slid his solar surfer half of the dock and mounted it again. He stood there for a moment, a silence surrounding him as he teetered on the edge of the brink. He could feel his heart pounding against his chest like the wings of a galactian bird. He loved it when it did that. All that vibrant adrenaline rushing through his veins anxious to completely let go and set him free.
He was ready.
Jim teetered once more and slowly tipped downward. He let out a big whoop as he completely let go of all inhibitions and dropped.
Falling. So calm of a plunge to the earth. It was as if everything stood still for that one instant as the wind caressed his pain away. He forgot about everything there was to remember. Every memory, every tear, every exasperated sigh left him in that moment where nothing else mattered but him being liberated against the air.
Just imagine that feeling. Feel what he felt. See yourself right there, next to him, completely boundless.
Jim closed his eyes for a minute soaking it all in, letting it all go.
Then suddenly, Jim's eyes popped open as he righted himself, hit the thruster, and in a flash of motion barely skimmed the ground and rocketed upward toward the clouds.
Nothing could be more exhilarating.
This was the part where all the adrenaline stored up in his veins pushed him to his extreme and blinded him of every sorrow in the universe.
As soon as he felt he might hit the smoky gray clouds he let go of his thruster and let himself drop once more. The rush against his skin soothed the pounding of his heart and as he plunge closer toward the ground he lit his thruster again and slowly drifted downward until his surfer softly touched the ground.
Jim breathed in deeply and tried to remember what he came there to forget.
But all he could see was the sky. All he could feel was the wind. All he could hear was his heart.
And tomorrow he'd do it again.
