Maybe it was because she wanted to stand out from the rest of the girls her age. She didn't even know what it was, or what it felt like, but she told herself that she was better off without it.
Love, that is.
It irritated her to no end when girls fawned over their love of the week, gushing out 'details' that had happened during her date, what her date had given her, and the list goes on.
She, of course, had crushes before. But loving them? The idea of it was absurd.She held no grudge against it; she simply knew that it was a bonus in life, something you could do without.
Common facts, she told herself.
She had no intention of getting married, much less getting pregnant. She had no intention of being committed to someone forever. She never gave it a second thought.
Until she met him.
Looking at him now, she smiled. He was still a teenager; let him have fun in the remaining years of adolescence. But once he became an adult…
She supposed she could do love. For him, at least.
I remembered how bitter I was about relationships around two years ago. I guess that's where I got this idea.
