The Kiss
"Toshirou, where are we going?" The short girl asked for the 18th time.
Once again, he didn't tell her, only sighing at her impatience.
Riku bounced behind him, kicking up clumps of snow as she went. It was Christmas day, and Toshirou had dragged her from her merry annual messing with Yumichika—Right when she was about to fully implement her plan. But he'd found her and hauled her off, saying that he needed to speak with her. She'd thought that he was mad at her pranking Yumichika and was going to berate her, and was pleasantly surprised that he was not. He'd simply demanded that she come with him to see some place he'd found.
At first, Riku had been positively enthusiastic about it, but now after walking up a hill for a good twenty minutes, she was bored. She was about to ask him once more how long it was going to take, when he stopped in front of a tree at the top.
"Finally!" She exclaimed, "Where are—" Her breath caught in her throat. She had looked up past the tree, only to see the most amazing view she'd ever looked upon.
The sun was just starting to set, creating a beautiful light-purple and pink color. All you could see was the Sereitei glistening and sparkling from the frost and evening sun. It was a glorious sight.
"Wow." Riku breathed out. "It's gorgeous."
But Toshirou wasn't looking at the landscape. He was staring at Riku, taking in all of her appearance. "Not nearly as pretty as you." He muttered under his breath, not meaning for her to hear.
She did though, and a light blush graced her face. "Do you really think that?" She asked, tilting her head and turning to face him.
He looked shocked for a second, then his face softened into a small smile. "I do." He stated, nodding.
And with that, he placed a hand on her cheek, caressing it softly. He leaned forward, and placed his lips to hers, giving her a sweet and gentle kiss.
