Cadence

June had always hated living in fear - for her son Jack, her job, and everything else for that matter. Life was unpredictable enough as it was, with things not going the way they planned, had they not, so what was the point of living every way in repressed anxiety while going about the day, keeping things organized, and having things right to achieve pointless simplicity? She supposed that was a little more like what her life had become, though the need to keep things simple and to keep Jack out of harm's way has caused unneeded complexities in their lives.
In the end she had found out that balance wasn't always a part of the game plan in this existence, merely an extension of what everyone needs to stay sane, to not go mad with stress and anger. She had only known what she saw life as, believing that very life to be whole when it was only a small part of many. With finding out about Jack's 'science fiction club' and what life-threatening risks the Autobots and the children, especially her only son, would encounter, it was confusing and she had never wanted such a thing. In fact, she had never even thought of such a thing to begin with. After all, it sounded like a story encompassing the world from within, putting people in harm's way and certain destruction would follow, not to mention death and ideals of what was real to come crashing down.
She had never wanted to stand idly by when Jack would put himself in danger, much less things she never would have believed existed. She was his mother, and he was the only thing she had left, keeping her grounded in reality and not in some fairy tale where she was there for herself.
Then again, if she were to stand by the Autobots, along with Jack, she would a part of something greater, something bigger than ever before, that concerned not just an entire state but a whole existence, something to live for. She would be a part of something that would be worthwhile, and be there for Jack as well.
In the end she had a great mind; that was the only truth. She didn't brag that much, but great minds like hers would be useful for a cause that would help the very place she and Jack lived in, because that was all they had, so that there would be a balance in their lives once again.
