"Looks like it is going to be another beautiful Burkian day." Hiccup said to Astrid as he pulled back the covers and swung his legs over the sky. It has been a week since the battle against Drago and his Bewilderbeast, but mostly since the death of his farther and chief Stiock the vast. And now he was in charge of running the village and keeping an eye on the people, but the one thing he was most worried about was the Twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut. "You're letting the heat out." Astrid complained to hiccup. "And come back to bed." She mumbled as she drifted off again.

"As my dad say you can never get up to early for cheifing. I will see you a bit later." He got up and put the covers back over Astrid, he walked over to the window and looked out. The sun was just coming out. Judging by that it was 7 o'clock. He slipped on his flight suite and various contraptions such as his flaming sword. Before he left we went over to Astrid, he bent down and kissed her forehead. He had inherited his furthers house; they had converted hiccups old room into a place for Stormfly and Toothless to sleep, so that meant that he got his farther room. He walked into the room to find them both fast asleep; Toothless head was resting on Stormflys back. "Lets go Toothless, we have a busy day today. But there is a beautiful sunrise, would you like to go for a quick fly before the work starts?" his head and ears suddenly pricked up, he made his excited grown which sounded more like a squeak. Toothless came bounding up to hiccup like a puppy on snoggletog. Before hiccup could think about leaving the room Toothless had chucked hiccup onto his back and they flew out of the little window in the roof of the room. They flew over the village it was very quiet as most of the Vikings like their lie in. some were out getting their boats ready to do some fishing, and some were tending to their sheep and yaks. "Morning Hiccup." Mulch said to me as we flew past the dock. Hiccup waved to him.

"It's a nice day, you should catch quite a lot of fish today. Make sure you get some help from them dragons of yours. We need to get as much fish in before winter comes." He nodded.

"Will do chief." He said back to Hiccup. He still couldn't get used to people calling him chief. They went on their way gliding around the island, weaving through the sea stacks as trying to go as fast as they could. There wasn't enough time for hiccup to use his wing suite though. So instead they went up into the clouds, and plummeted back down. Toothless opened his wings and hiccup opened up his tail just in time, to avoid going for a swim. They were soon soaring along the top of the sea. Hiccup looked behind him to find Cloudjumper coming over to say hello to them. Valka hiccups mother was not there. "Is mum still sleeping?" Cloudjumper gave a little nod of his head and flew off, Hiccup hadn't seen Valka come out of the house since Stoick died. He bowed his head to Toothless in respect. As Toothless is the alpha now that he defeated the Bewilderbeast. "I really wish dad was here." Hiccup said to Toothless. Toothless purred sympathetically. "We should get back to the village." They were already turning around to go back, as they were going back to burk Hiccup and Toothless came across a scared pack of Thunderdrums. "Hmm, thats not normal. they usually love the waters around Burk." He said to Toothless. Having a closer look he could see they seemed to be flying and swimming away from the forrest. Thinking they just got spooked by the local Timberjack he left it. They flew into the village and landed in the centre of Burk. Hiccup got off Toothless and went over to see Gobber. He was busy working on saddles for the villages growing number of dragons and the odd weapon for the odd viking. Since Drago's death and Valka returning, there has been an increase in dragons and the variety of dragons. Fishlegs was of course ecstatic about this. "Nice to see you Hiccup. How are you doing?" Gobber asked Hiccup.

"Good, despite the events that has happened." He replied.

"So I'm guessing you are to busy chiefing to help me out?" he asked Hiccup.

"Yep, you don't need me though you have new apprentice I see" Hiccup said looking over at the Boy busy working on the saddles.

"He is better then you ever were. And can lift the tools with out dropping them on him self" Hiccup laughed shaking his head and walked off to patrol the village and tend to the peoples needs and concerns. He could shake the feeling off that something wasn't right in the forest. The villagers had just started to wake up, and getting on with their day. Nothing major seemed to have happened over night so it is always quiet in the morning. I could hear the squawk of a nadder in the distance. I knew who that sound belonged to. I looked around to see Stormfly coming into land. Astrid was wearing her normal everyday clothes. "Morning milady." Hiccup said to her as he walked over to greet her, she jumped off Stormfly and ran over to Hiccup. She opened up her arms and hugged him, he returned the hug. "Morning." She said as she pulled back. Hiccup lent in to kiss her, he could feel the warmth and softness of her lips. She parted her mouth and returned the kiss just as passionately. She raped her fingers in his hair; Hiccup placed his hands onto her hips as they parted. "You seem in a good mood, for once." Hiccup said mockingly.

"Hey." she said punching his arm. "I am always in a good mood."

"Ow, was that really necessary." He told her she shrugged her shoulders, hiccup started to tickle her stomach as payback.

"Have you two ever heard of a room?" They stopped flirting with each other and looked over at Snotlout.

"Do you have anything else to do?" Hiccup said to Snotlout.

"Have you seen Ruffnut anywhere?" He asked them.

"Are you trying to get together with Ruffnut?" Astrid asked him.

"No…Maybe. What do you care, I was just asking if you know where she is?" Snotlout said and walked off. Hiccup and Astrid looked at each other and started to laugh. "He does know that Tuffnut will never go for him, she is too obsessed wit Erit." Astrid said as she looked at Snotlout walking away.

"You gotta give him points for trying." Hiccup replied. They stood there for a minuet Astrid in Hiccups arms. She rested her head on his chest. They took their time to enjoy the piece; it didn't take long before the first problem of the day. Hiccup drew back and walked way from Astrid. It was Brynjar one of Snotlouts extended family members. "Hiccup, the twins have been messing around with my sheep. The sheep are gone and their pen id wrecked." Hiccup sighed, he looked at Astrid. She knew what that looks meant. Hiccup climbed back on to Toothless. "lead the way." Hiccup asked Brynjar, as he climbed on to his Monstrous nightmare. they flew off out of the village.
