Harry Potter/My Little Pony Crossover
Ok so first off I would like to add a little note that I am fairly new to the site, and this is my first fanfic. Ever. Umm…it might not be the best one I will ever write but whatever. Oh, and also even though I was totally obsessed with Harry Potter when I was younger, it has been a while, and I am currently in the process of re-reading, so bear with me guys and gals. One more final thing to note is that I am totally American, so I might not have some of the phrases commonly used throughout Brittan and Europe down yet…I'm working on it! Okay so now, without further ado, I present to you… my fanfiction. **Applause**
The sound of screeching brakes filled the station as the Hogwarts train arrived at platform 9 ¾. Admittedly, Luna Lovegood was quite proud of herself for knowing how to enter the platform properly (with little assistance from her father). Many of the other students wouldn't even get that far…the Muggle born ones anyway. Not that Luna had anything against Muggle-borns, she just knew they might not know how to enter the platform. Had she seen any, she most certainly would have offered her assistance. But she didn't see any so there, that's final.
She picked up her trunks, double-checked to make sure her wand was still tucked safely behind her ear (no matter what her father said, it was not going to blast her ear off!), and took a deep breath. It's not every day a girl goes of to start her first year at Hogwarts. Really, it's more like every year…
"So you had best be grateful, Luna," she whispered to herself. "Many people would love to have this opportunity…"
Her thoughts were interrupted when her father giving her hand a squeeze. She hadn't even remembered he was holding her. She turned to him, and was surprised to find tears in his eyes.
"Your mother…would be so proud," he choked out.
She would have. She really, truly would have.
"I wish she was here to send you off with me," he continued, wiping his face.
So did Luna.
"I'm going to miss you Luna. The house will be awful lonesome without you."
It probably would. But it's not like Luna could have stayed.
The train's 'last warning' whistle sounded. Finally Luna spoke.
"Goodbye…father. I'll miss you too. Don't forget to write!"
And with that, she released her father's hand, and hopped onto the train. She had her whole life ahead of her.
