Real Or Not Real?

In the interviews before the 75th Quarter Quell of the Hunger Games, Peeta tells the audience of the Capitol that he would have no regrets "if it weren't for the baby." "The Baby was real…" Katniss whispered.

Everyone thought it was just a tactic, just a ploy to gain the capitol's pity and to start a riot, but it wasn't…it was the truth.

The shocked faces of everyone around her as the nurse reads the charts explaining all of her injuries and the health of her 13 week old unborn baby.

"What are you talking about, Katniss?" Haymitch is outraged. "You wanted so desperately me to save Peeta, to sacrifice you for his safety, and all along you are hiding this?! What about this baby Katniss, you should have thought about the baby's safety first!"

"I was going to figure it out!" Katniss yelled, furious. She jabbed her arm out, gesturing wildly around the room. "We were going to figure it out! But now, Peeta's gone!"

OR

The baby was real and it really DID die in the shock from destroying the arena.

"The baby…" Katniss sobbed. "Our baby…she was real." Katniss grasps her flattened stomach and rocks back and forth, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Everyone thought it was a tactic, just a stupid ploy to get the capitol on our side, but it wasn't. It was all real. She was real!"

Gale's shocked face in the background that deliberately and carefully slides into an impassive farce.

Haymitch hugs her in an attempt to comfort her, shocked and outraged that they had never bothered to tell him that the baby was, in fact, real. "Katniss." He shakes her arms and forces her to look up. "Katniss, why didn't you tell me?! You should have told me…I could have…we could have…"

"and why didn't you tell me, Haymitch?" Katniss whispered, "I would have never have shot that arrow if I knew the consequences. Now, Peeta is gone and our baby is dead."

So, which do all of you like more? I'm open to suggestions and opinions. : ) I also know that I should be working on my other stories, but these ideas hit me late tonight. Originally, I just wanted to READ a story about this, but I searched and searched, all for naught. Surprisingly, I couldn't find a single story. I would also love it if any of you could recommend a story that involves these ideas in any way.
