important
Please take time to read this.
Due to hiatus and plot flaws issues, there had been major changes in this story. The characters' profession and roles remained the same but the series of events were changed for the betterment of the story plot. This is just an important note that you, darlings, should know so you don't have to be confused when I update the latest chapter. On a side note, you can unfollow this story (or me) if you want to.
I am asking for apology to the readers who reviewed on the previous three to five chapters. I had to delete those chapters for major revision. Sorry. x
about
Dangerous is a draconian, alternate universe in which Levi Ackerman serves as Petra Ral's bodyguard. Erwin Smith is the nation's president, and Hanji Zoe is an army surgeon and a military officer respectively. All the canonical events in the anime series and manga Shingeki no Kyojin are not included in this story. Dead characters are still alive and some places mentioned in the chapters are just works of my imagination.
It is important to note that this is not affiliated to any Rivetra stories that I've written, nor is based on any novels, stories, movies, series, songs or any form of arts and media. This is my original plot.
disclaimer

prologue
ー進撃 の 巨人ー
"I said I'm not going with you!" Petra Ral scowls while struggling to let go from the tight grip on her wrist.
"You don't have a choice, Petra Ral." the man retorts without glancing at her.
His voice is masculine and deep, and she can easily tell that he is strong despite of his short stature. It seems to her that even if she struggles, he will never let go of her. Not a chance at all.
"I don't even know you!" she screams, partly irritated with a hint of suspicion in her voice. Grooves are formed between her smooth eyebrows.
She persistently pulls her arm with her and they both stop in front of a glittering gazebo litted with tiny white lights. When he steps to reach for her, she steps backwards.
"Don't come near me." She warns. "I'll scream."
He just stares blankly at her and moves two steps more.
"I said don't come near me!"
But before she can blink, he is standing before her. She throws girly punches on his hard chest but he's not moved by it. He just archs an eyebrow at her.
"Girly punches don't hurt, you know?" He says bluntly.
Her face turns red and punches him more, this time, harder. "Who are you? Why do you know me? What are you going to do to me?" She blurts out but she screams when he suddenly carries her on top of his broad shoulder.
"Help!" She screams but nobody's around; all the CCTVs are broken and the party inside the estate is still going on. Everybody's busy inside the foyer.
He opens the door of his black car that he parked at the back of the estate and frantically throws her on the pasenger seat. Before he starts the engine, he gets something inside his suit's pocket and throws it gently on her lap. She glowers at him suspiciously, and then she hesitantly picks it and flips the thing that looks like a professional license.
"I am Levi Ackerman, an idiot assigned to be your personal bodyguard," he introduces himself but his sight is nailed on the road ahead as he maneuver on the parking area.
"No! You're a stalker and a kidnapper!" She accuses him. She has hard time trusting strangers, especially men.
His eyes roll. "I should've strucked you to sleep at the compartment by now if I'm a kidnapper."
She screams at him, and on her left and right, in panic. Tears are starting to form at the edges of her eyes. She feels helpless.
"Shut up and fasten your seatbelt." He sighs and starts the engine. "It's not my problem if you don't know me or SAF."
Petra stops screaming and stares on the young-looking man beside her who is now driving toward the gates of the estate.
Special Action Force. She suddenly recalls inside her head.
She shifts her body towards him. "Are you the one Uncle was talking about? That SAF Captain?"
Levi almost rolls his eyes. "It's my twin."
Petra studies him. "But why are you the one to–"
He shoots her a swift glare. "My twin was eaten by a goat so your uncle asked me to take charge."
She huffs at him and frowns. She doesn't know if she will believe him so she just leans her back on the seat and brings out her phone. Before she can dial her uncle's number, she hears him swear under his breath.
"I don't care if you have trust issues. But if you don't want to die early, you should trust a fucking loyal person who works directly under the President."
Petra focuses her gaze on him.
"Should I believe you now?" says Petra sarcastically. "Every kidnapper can say that."
"For fuck's sake." He says. "You can call the police any minute if I don't bring you home."
She thinks for a moment. "Deal." She finally agrees.
Thousands of thoughts start to blow her mind when his phone rang and he jabbered on it for the rest of the ride. She drifts her sight on the tinted window where lights flicker on the streets and buildings along the road. As she indulges her thoughts on the last phone call that she received from her uncle, she vaguely remembers when he mentioned a name of someone ㅡ the SAF Captain. Unfortunately, she didn't pay attention to it. She doesn't want bodyguards; it makes her feel caged. But a thought hit her that the SAF beside her might be the one that her uncle has been talking about all along.
Between the traffic and the ordinary sounds, it occurs to her that she should trust and believe in him.
Levi is the one to break the silence. "You'll be fine." he assures her upon halting his car in front of her gate.
She nods without glancing at him, amber orbs are nail outside the tinted window. Her twitched eyebrows are enough for him to notice that she feels both annoyed and worried. He snorts in the sight of her frowning face.
"Will you tell me what exactly is happening?" Petra says as she looks directly in his eyes.
Levi sighs. "Your life is in danger."
"In danger? How in the world-?" she tries to confirm, her voice is suspicious, as she climbs out of the car.
As soon as she stepped out, he closes the passenger's door and pulls her closer to him, much to her surprise. But she is more surprised when he pulls out a gun inside his coat, and points it towards a lamp post across her house.
"Oh my god. What's happening?" She asks in panic but she can't move a muscle as her face buries on his chest. His left arm is caging her closer to him.
"Be quiet. And don't move." He replies silently.
She swallows the lump that was formed in her throat. They remain in that position for half a minute but for Petra, it feels like a year. All she hears is a click from the gun that he's holding before he pushes her back against the walls of her gates. He corners her with his arms and she freezes.
"Look," he replies with twitched eyebrows, "Your fuzzy eyebrowed uncle has a bunch of greedy opponents in the political world. They are fucking drowning to their desire for power. They want to destroy him." He explains.
The fierce of his glare almost melts her sinking heart.
"But why do you have to do this?"
"You still don't get it, do you? Look at the man across the street." He says soberly.
She slowly yet hesitantly glances behind him, above his shoulder, and sees a bloody man lying on the sidewalk. The air almost leaves her lungs as she shrieks in shock.
Levi jabbers on his mobile to call some reinforcement.
"It's No Name. I shot someone across Ral's residence. You already know what to do." he says and hangs up.
"What happened?" Petra asks, trembling.
"See that? He's one of the opposition's men."
She briefly glances at the unconscious man across the street. "But who's that person behind the opposition?" she asks hysterically. Her gaze is plastered on his fierce, narrow eyes.
"He's an idiot who let himself be eaten by power and greed." He mentally kicks himself for using the term idiot, nonetheless, he continues, "He used to show respect and support to the President for publicity. What do you expect from filthy politicians? They are great pretenders." He replies.
She bits her lower lip, fighting herself to not shed a single tear. "I can't understand."
"Of course you won't because you don't know anything." Words roll out heavily from his tongue. "In case you're not much aware, the President's family is given Presidential Security Guards for protection whether you like it or not. You don't have a choice."
She lowers her head to avoid his intimidating glare. Her knees are slightly trembling.
"I'm sorry." She whispers, her voice is hoarse. She is about to cry.
"You have nothing to apologise. Now, get inside. I will call you later." He orders and removes his arms to free her.
Petra quickly opens the gate and jabs the key into the door knob. Before she enters the house, she wipes the tears that fell from her eyes and turns her head to look at him. She is not surprised when she finds him looking at her too. To avoid an awkward moment, she gives him a faint smile of appreciation.
"Mr. Ackerman."
"Levi." He says, "Call me Levi."
She smiles at him. "Thank you for protecting me, Levi."
Her smile bring a slight lift in his heart. It is the first time a woman appreciates his effort.
He nods and replies back, "Always."
