"Dear Lily, by the time you get this…"

Lily rolled her eyes and left the note on her bed, walking away. "She'll be back." She muttered.

"Carmen, I need to t-!" Johnny rushed into the room and saw the note. He read it. "Oh no…" he ran to his room to get changed, and then he started looking up Esme in the phonebook.

With Carmen.

"I can't believe I actually listened to you!" she said, and she ran out of the house. As she got out of the driveway, she looked around her, then at her phone.

"Are you okay?" Johnny's voice asked.

Carmen looked up and stared at him, putting her phone in her pocket. "How did you find me?" she asked.

"I uh, looked up Vasquez-Jones in the phonebook." Johnny explained, stepping closer to her. "Are you…really going to run away?"

"What do you care?" Carmen asked.

"Just…trust me, I care, alright?" Johnny said.

"I…I don't know any more." She said with a sigh.

"Carmen…you and Esme might want the same things, but, she can't be there for you properly because she knows nothing about you. Not like we do." Johnny told her.

Carmen nodded and suddenly hugged him tightly. He was surprised, but hugged her back.

"So…what have I got to do to convince you to stay?" Johnny asked, as they broke away from each other.

"Nothing. The trips off, anyway."

"Good. The thing is Carmen…I need to tell you something…" Johnny said, as they began to walk home together.

"What?" Carmen asked.

"The reason I wanted to know so much about Esme, is because…I thought, if I got to know her better…I could get closer to you." Johnny said. "I…I've fallen for you."

Carmen smiled and slipped her hand into his. "The weirdest part of that is that I've fallen for you too."

"So…do you want to be my...you know…girlfriend?" Johnny blushed.

"Do you even have to ask?" Carmen said, with a bright smile. "Of course I do."

And so they went, newly girlfriend and boyfriend, back to Elm Tree House.
