Riddles

a/n: This is a spur of the moment fic. I've been up all night cleaning my room and I just couldn't get this out of my head! Anyways, enjoy my first fic since, like 1482.

Read it. Review it. Love it.

"Wanna hear another one?" Eiko jumped in excitement for her love's return.

Zidane could have died. Eiko had taken it upon herself to fill him in on every single detail of every single moment he had missed. Shortly after the story of her adoption, and the oh-so-thrilling story of the one eye browed man that escorted her to her very first 'princess room', she went into another fascinating bit about her adoptive father's love of riddles. This story encased a number of well known riddles that Eiko had apparently found rather clever. After a fit of giggles on Eiko's part and a few bemused chuckles from Dagger on how a creature with only a face and two hands was, in fact, a clock, Zidane wasn't sure if he could take many more. However, seeing as how this was Zidane, and he knew how happy this was making the young summoner… and well, Dagger was wearing an incredible smile that convinced him that continuing would be worth it to see her smile like that, he said, "Why not."

"Yay! I'm so happy you like my riddles!" She jumped again, "okay, okay… So, a rooster lays an egg on the point of a roof, what side of the roof will the egg roll down?"

Zidane leaned to one side, slightly agitated, but kept his smile on regardless, "I dunno, which side?"

"Wait! I know!" Dagger raised her hand and perked up onto her tip-toes, "Neither, roosters don't lay eggs!"

"Cheater! I've told you that one before!" Eiko's hands went to her hips, and her tongue spat out, rather unlady-like towards the elder summoner, "but that's okay! I've got one you haven't heard yet, and it's guaranteed to stump both of you!"

"Oh really, now?" Zidane challenged.

"Yes!" she clapped her hands, "okay so there are two trains both heading different directions on the same track, train a i—"

"Wait! Why are two trains heading in opposite directions, on the same track?" Dagger interrupted

"Ah! Gosh, that's totally not to the point at all! Some lame brain at the station messed up, okay?" Eiko's foot stamped the ground, "Gosh, just listen! Okay, so train A is going five hundred miles per hour, and train B is going 1200 miles per hour. How long will it take you two to realize you're head over heels for one another?"

Zidane and Dagger just simply stared at the young girl with dropped jaws and eyes about to burst from their sockets. "See?" Eiko brushed her hands together, "Stumped."

With that, the blue-haired girl ventured onward to do more menacing deeds to her other companions, and left the bewildered teenagers alone with one another to (finally) sort out their feelings for each other.

A/N: I know a short one, but I like it this length I didn't want to have too much filler and distract from the story. So how'd I do? Let me know! I heart reviews. Oh and by that way, the riddle with the clock is from Pokémon (yes, make fun of me) the rooster one is one I've known since I was little…and the train one was one I kind of altered that a friend taught me in, like, middle school. Well, I hope you enjoyed this short read!
