Ajedrez looked down and saw Sands lying in the plaza courtyard and she smiled to herself. He was still alive. That was good. She didn't want him dead. That didn't suit her purposes but she was surprised that he had made it this far away from where she had left him.
He had screwed her over one too many times, cheating on her with another woman. She had warned him not to do it again but he didn't listen. Then when he told her his plan she knew just how to exact her revenge on him.
She would tell Daddy all about it, on the condition that he didn't kill Sands. She would ask him to remove his eyes. She laughed at the thought of it. It was his beautiful dark chocolate brown eyes that the women loved so much. It was those eyes that had first attracted her to him and trapped her in his snare, so it was only fitting that she take them. No other woman would want him after that, she thought.
She walked the short distance across the courtyard and stood in front of him. "You f-ing little monkey. Stand up," she said, still amazed that he had made it this far, as she placed his sunglasses over the gaping holes in his head where his eyes used to be and forced him to his feet.
She looked at him and put her gun under his chin so he wouldn't try anything. He still looked so good, she thought, even without his eyes. Yes, she would keep him. After a while, he'd forgive her for what she'd done to him. He'd have to. He would have to rely on her for help just to get around. She would be his eyes and she'd never have to worry about him looking at another woman or cheating on her ever again.
"See anything you like?" She said sarcastically knowing he couldn't see a thing.
She kissed him, thinking about her plan and how it had come together so nicely. Daddy was happy with her and she could keep her man all to herself.
A sharp pain ripped through her abdomen and she looked down at the blood seeping quickly from her body in shock. He had shot her, but how and why? She couldn't fathom it. She dropped to her knees and looked up into his face, the shock evident on hers.
He pulled his fake third arm off and dropped it on the ground. "No," he said firmly.
She fell to the ground, her eyes still fixed on his marred and yet still perfect face. It wasn't going to end the way she wanted it to. Would he have done this if he knew how much she loved him? She didn't get a chance to ask him as the life drained out of her and her eyes went dark.
