Ron and Hermione stood outside the little cottage in Godric's Hollow that they had decided to live in together. It was going to be their first night in the house and they were extremely excited. Still kissing, Ron and Hermione clumsily opened the door and entered the cottage. They made their way over to the couch and fell upon it with Hermione on top of Ron. As Hermione was clawing at Ron's shirt, Ron grabbed her hands and pulled away.
"Wait," Ron said looking at Hermione.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked, confused.
"I have something for you," Ron said.
"Now? Can't it wait?" Hermione asked and proceeded to put her lips back on Ron's.
"No. It can't wait," Ron said, breaking the contact. "I think now is the perfect time."
"Okay. Fine," Hermione said, a little annoyed, sitting back on the couch and releasing Ron.
Ron got off the couch and went into the bedroom. Hermione heard him open and close a drawer.
When he came back into the living room, Ron stayed standing in the middle of the room with his hand behind his back. He shifted his feet nervously.
"Come here," Ron said to Hermione.
Hermione walked into the middle of the room where Ron was standing. She was really curious to see what Ron had for her.
"What?"
Ron looked Hermione in the eyes for a few seconds and then he smiled shyly and knelt down on his right knee. Hermione gasped as Ron brought out from behind his back a ring box and opened it to reveal a solid gold ring.
"Hermione Granger, you have made me happier than I ever thought I could be. Will you continue to make me the happiest man alive? Will you marry me?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" Hermione responded enthusiastically, smiling wider than she had ever smiled before.
Ron stood up, grinning from ear to ear, took the ring out of the box, and slipped it onto Hermione's left ring finger.
As soon as the ring was on her finger, Hermione grabbed Ron, kissed him as she had never kissed him before, and pushed him towards the bedroom where they would celebrate both the first night in their apartment and their engagement.
