Limelight
Here I stand once more on the stage,
The limelight glowing about me,
Once more I shun away from it's blinding light,
No more, and once again forced to fight.
Knowing that they are watching me,
Feeling the eyes of all stare in awe,
Knowing that the limelight will never fade,
And so, I know one day I will finally cave.
Standing alone once again,
Friends lost and hope gone,
I feel my anger grow and burn,
When, if ever, will I learn?
They fall about me, gone forever,
My fault, my fault, my fault,
Raging to avenge lost in my sorrow,
I will always be lost in a forsaken hollow.
Here I stand once more on the stage,
The limelight glowing about me,
Once more I shun away from it's blinding light,
No more, and once again forced to fight.
Knowing my end is near,
Feeling death lurk about in every shadow,
Knowing that one day I must stand,
And so, I ready my shaking hand.
Alone and standing, knowing what lies ahead,
Breathing fast, hands sweaty and shaking,
I see ahead and look death in the face,
Now I walk forward at a steady pace.
Raising my wand,
Knowing the end is near,
I scream a spell,
And to my surprise, the demon fell.
Here I stand once more on the stage,
The limelight glowing about me,
Once more I shun away from it's blinding light,
No more, and once again forced to fight.
Knowing that something is wrong,
Feeling the cold earth beneath me,
Knowing my breath is slipping away,
And so, I close my eyes, and let life give way.
