'Til You're Blue in the Face!

The auburn leaves swirled about the factory courtyard as Sarah sat outside the main door, waiting to be let in. Mid-autumn's frigid touch stung her skin, causing goosebumps.

"D-Dumb w-weatherman" trembled Sarah as she curled up tighter, trying to keep warm. "T-T-The one d-day I listen to y-your darn pr-pr-prediction, its w-w-wrong!"

Expecting pleasant weather following the weather forecast, Sarah opted to go with a simple amethyst dress complemented by a taffy pink bolero and white knee socks. Her long butterscotch blonde hair fluttered in the wind, constantly getting in her face much to her annoyance. From inside her petite white purse, her phone vibrated. Sarah reached her shaking hands into the bag and retrieved the device, seeing that she had received a text.

"Welcome. We have been expecting you."

Sarah peered up at the tall front of the factory. Inscribed on the top of the building were the words "Slugworth Confectioneries Inc.". Sarah felt small pangs of excitement inside as the doors to the factory opened before her, taking the young lady's mind off the freezing weather. When she was a child, Sarah craved sweeties, and craved Wonka candy more than any other. She had longed to enter that enigmatic old factory of Mister Wonka's to witness with her own two eyes just how he made such brilliant sweets.

Replacing her cellphone, Sarah rose to her feet and adjusted her windblown hair as best she could, before walking through the double doors. Sarah struggled to restrain her inner child, who was bouncing around inside of her with elation at the realization that she would finally be fulfilling that childhood dream of hers. She would have to settle for Slugworth's factory, to her slight disappointment, for Mister Wonka's chocolate factory closed down years ago. Sarah couldn't recall why exactly, only that she was entering her first year of high school when she heard the news.

I wonder what kind of candy they'll have me taste test. Their online form didn't really mention anything, now that I think about it…

Sarah grimaced slightly.

I hope it's not anything lemon flavored. Yuck! Or worse…gum...
