Aurora pushed away the tear that fell down her cheek. The kingdom lay before her dark and beautiful. She'd wanted to be out there amongst the trees and the fairies. She longed for the days when she was young and innocent. When she didn't understand heartache and pain. She even settled for never ending sleep. Perhaps then she would be with her children.

"My love." The Prince voice faulted. How did one comfort another with such loss. How could she face him when she had failed him again.

Slowly she turned. He stood by the crib by the still baby. It's was their fourth born sleeping.

She refused to look at it. She couldn't bare to see another child snatched away from her.

"We can try again my love."

She didn't know how to tell him she couldn't bare it. That her heart was torn apart into so many buried pieces that she couldn't do it again.

"We need to find a witch." The words passed from her lips before she had time to think. Phillip's jaw hardened.

"No."

"I need to lift this curse." She cried. "It remains with in me, can't you see that?" She looked down for the first time at their child. She imagines if things were different it's lips would be red instead of blue. It's hair would thicken and would be earth coloured like her husbands.

"Haven't I lost enough? If you go seeking a witch I will have nothing left. This kingdom will not survive another witch. I will not survive." He walks around the crib and pulls his wife to his chest. "I can't loose you too. You're all I have left."

She cries clutching his shirt. She needs him to understand. She's whispers words she doesn't dare utter aloud. "I can't bury anymore children Phillip there has to be a way."

He kiss her forehead making a promise he wasn't sure he could keep.

"We'll find it."
