Delusional
He must've been delusional that day. It wasn't because he woke up to Karupin's huge eyes inches away from his face, but just the fact that the first thing he saw when he walked out the door was a guy walking down the street. Nothing wrong with that picture, you might say, but he was walking with a petite girl with long brown hair, in braids. He immediately recognized her as Sakuno Ryuzaki, who looked like she was laughing (he couldn't tell that well, because they were so far away).
He stared at them until they walked around the corner and he could see them no more, wondering why he never walked with her to school (she must live pretty close to him, he figures), and why she never laughed when she was with him. Heck, she hardly ever talks to him! He tried to put those thoughts aside while he walked to Seigaku himself. They might just be friends, anyways…
All thoughts came back, however, when he arrived and saw that guy and Sakuno hug and walked off to the direction of the tennis courts. He scowled and followed them. He wasn't stalking them or anything, he told himself, he was just simply going the same way (even though he didn't have practice that morning). He watched as they hugged again, then moved even closer.
They kissed!
His eyes widened and he was glued to the place where he stood.
'I never had the chance –'
"R-Ryoma-kun?" He turned around.
There stood Sakuno Ryusaki, head bowed and hands figeting at her sides. She ran a hand through her hair.
He stared. "You got a haircut," he stated.
"Yeah, I got it cut about a week ago..." she trailed off, wondering why he had just noticed now. It is much shorter than before, now just resting on her shoulders.
"I like it."
"R-really?" She blushed, scruffling her feet in the dirt, "I thought a change would be nice..."
They stood in silence for a while, until Sakuno jumped and started bowing rapidly.
"I almost forgot! Obaasan wants to see you right now! I'm so sorry! You better go quickly! She's very grumpy today!" He watched as she babbled on and on about how sorry she was, her short hair flying everywhere because she was still bowing.
He wondered how it was possible for her not to be dizzy. He wondered if her hair was soft. He wondered what her hair would feel like if he ran his hand through it.
"Ryoma-kun? Hello?" She waved a hand in front of him, but he just stared, thinking.
Yeah, he must've been delusional that day.
