Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who.
A/N: Very short, but I think it turned out ok. Please review.
Also, if you're waiting for more of Public Enemy Number 1, it won't be much longer. I've had writing block for awhile, but I think I'm slowly getting my plot bunnies back.
The Doctor walks through the park, staring vacantly ahead. He passes several people who say hello to him, but he doesn't respond.
Instead, images of a blonde girl with brown eyes haunt his mind, memories of a lost love. The only girl who could truly reach his hearts, yet alone bring unfathomable light into the darkest recesses of his soul. Rose, his love, his friend; will he ever see her again?
His hearts ache every second, memories of their last moments together playing over and over again in his mind. A tear rolls down his cheek, and he makes no move to wipe it away.
More tears begin to fall as the reality of his situation sinks in. She's really gone, forever. He won't find her waiting in the Tardis, not in her room; not even in her old flat with her mum. It finally happened; he lost her. The most precious thing in his long, painful life, and he lost her.
He sinks onto the ground, the emotional pain flooding all his senses. Leaning against a tree, he finally breaks down, audibly weeping. Bringing his knees up to his chest, he begins to rock back and forth, mumbling her name. What will he do? He's always relied on her to cheer him up: to make him smile despite the daunting events of his life, and the pain that surrounds him.
Several moments later he starts to calm down. Eventually even the tears have stopped, and he stands slowly. He tilts his gaze to the stars above and, coming to a decision, starts to walk back to the Tardis. Whatever happens, it will never be over for him and Rose. However slim the chances, he has to believe that they will meet again; for, if he gives up on seeing her again, the pain will be too much. He'll be unable to continue.
"We will meet again," He whispers, stepping into his ship.
